Y‘all, I have the best #secretsantagoespostal | #wintersolsticebookexchange Santa in @emilyhaldi ❤️🎄❤️ that mug 😍 I‘ve wanted to do the #letterstomyfutureself but felt guilty buying for myself! And the books!!! By the Book i ❤️ kingdom of ice - I‘ve been wanting to read for forever, the handmaids tale I‘ve never read! The Master & Margarita sounds SO GOOD and last but not least is miss smilla‘s feeling for snow! I‘m so overwhelmed and grateful!
Oh my goodness I feel so spoiled and blessed already by @emilyhaldi ❤️🙏🏻❤️ and I haven‘t even unwrapped the gifts! This tea is incredible! And the magnets have already made their way to my fridge 😁 I especially love “a well-read woman is a dangerous creature!”
I‘m savoring every moment of opening my #secretsantagoespostal #wintersolsticebookexchange thank you so so much @emilyhaldi - you are amazing!
Woohoo! Look what came in the mail!!! #secretsantagoespostal #wintersolsticebookexchange I‘m so very excited and thank you @emilyhaldi for putting your user name on outside of the box!!! I‘m so anxious for the 21st!!!!
This book is so good! I can‘t believe I waited so long to read it! 📚 Reid does not shy away from the hard topics, rather she unapologetically embraces subjects like homosexuality in the 50‘s and into the 1980‘s, interracial marriage, being a woman and wanting more...more of everything. This book surprised, entertained, and gave insight into the glamorous and not-so-glam world of Hollywood.
Thank you @ForeverNerdy for the #bookmail - as you can see by the big grin someone is pretty darn excited 😁 #juniorreaders
An evening alone with jazz playing and the latest release by Ausma Zehanat Khan. You can't see in this photo but I am only a third way into the book and have sticky notes throughout with questions. What part is actual history and which is fiction?
📖
Fascinating, disturbing and absolutely absorbing.
Thank you so much my sweet Valentine @MMenefee ❤ you knocked it out of the park with each wonderful gift! I haven't read either book but plan on starting The Club Dumas this evening. And the bracelet - oh my goodness I love the bracelet! Books are indeed my happy place! Thank you Thank you thank you! Now I must go light a candle and read a book 📚 and a shout-out to @BookishMarginalia for coordinating #cupidgoespostal 😘
Reading through the Spring/Summer 2017 Buzz Books has me adding stacks and stacks of books to a giant TBR list! 700+ pages of pure delight for a reader!
A story that will haunt you. Characters who feel alive. A little boy who stole my heart. Read it! If you dare. 😉
Fast paced. Twisted. Puts the psychological in thriller!
Woohoo! My #cupidgoespostal package is in my hot little hands and I'm so excited to open it! February 14th can't get here fast enough!

Based on JRR Tolkien's WWI experience and written by Tolkien's grandson, No Man's Land promises to be a winner! Have you read it yet?
This book had everything a great historical fiction novel should have - historic relevance, compelling characters, and a plot that keeps you turning pages. Love love love this book & Pam Jenoff!
Third book in the Neapolitan quartet and I want to throw this one across the room! Aargh! The writing is pure Ferrante- lush, descriptive, immersive. The plot took a turn I was thinking inevitable but hoping it wouldn't happen. Ugh! I'm so mad at Lina but especially at Elena! Now I've got to rush out and get book 4 to see if these friends completely ruined their lives forever.
I think I've found a new great series! Flawed female lead detective + killer mystery (bad pun intended). Looking forward to solving more crimes alongside DCI Erika Foster!
The 2nd book in Detective Khattak series. The first book, The Unquiet Dead, was incredible. It introduced us to Muslim detective Khattak and gave us insight into his life and beliefs all the while solving a murder reaching back to The Croatian War & war crimes committed.
Suspenseful, dark with emotional resonance, the Kept Woman has layers of thrills to keep you turning pages faster than the last. Trigger warnings: Karin Slaughter portrays crimes against women & children realistically & without restraint - one of the reasons I like her books so much – she brings awareness to these crimes. But if these are triggers for you please be aware before going in. Otherwise enjoy this fast-paced thriller!
"Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are"
".... people who wrote about emotionally charged episodes experienced a marked increase in their physical and mental well-being. They were happier, less depressed, and less anxious. In the months after the writing sessions, they had lower blood pressure, better immune function, and fewer doctor visits. They also reported higher quality relationships, better memory, and more success at work."
Quite possibly the best in the Detective Helen Grace series. A couple of cautions: the squad is investigating murder(s) in the BDSM community and book 5 is not wrapped up as neatly as the previous four books. Translation: cliffhangers!
Was this really a nonfiction book?!? Wow! Felt like I was reading a fast-paced thriller whose weapon of choice was every poison imaginable! Highly recommended!
"Nothing about multiculturalism antagonized Rachel. She liked all kinds of food, clothing, cultural customs and music. The one thing that held her aloof was a fear of offending."
Hmmmm, not quite certain of what to think. A buffalo? I did choose wild, free & wind. All things that could pertain to buffaloes, right?!?
Doesn't seem as though we have changed much (and certainly not even close to near enough) since end of WWII.
Why did I wait so long to start this series?!? Amazing! Fully fleshed out characters with a setting you feel plopped down right into. Highly highly recommended. What are you waiting for!
Beautiful coming of age story set in Depression-era Mississippi. Emotional. Heartfelt. Highly recommended.
Once you close the last page you will have been rung out, but you'll know the tremendous power of faith, hope, and love.
......People who are hurting don't need Avoiders, Protectors, or Fixers. What we need are patient, loving witnesses. People to sit quietly and hold space for us. People to stand in helpless vigil to our pain.
