Part Two of my February finished reads. I loved Quiet. I had to do the audiobook, I couldn‘t handle reading it. Way too dry for me but the audio was great. I‘ve discovered the Sookie Stackhouse books. They‘re fun and addictive. I can‘t stop myself! Did a reread of ACOWAR on audio. I still didn‘t love it but I did appreciate it more the second time around. 📚😍

Part One of February reading:
I‘ve been slacking with my Litsy account but I have been reading all the things! Hoopla is my new favorite app. Audiobooks are wonderful. I‘ve been driving late at night and the cheesy romance on audio keep me awake and alert. 😉

This was a bookclub read and made for great conversation. I didn‘t like it. 😳 That was a new feeling. There were really interesting topics touched on in this book, hence the great conversations, but I wanted more. I just wanted more through this whole book but not in a good way. I was left frustrated and confused. 😞

Leelee.reads I was so frustrated by the ending! I didn‘t understand the author‘s choice to take it that direction at all. 😕 7y

Can I move to Scotland now? It sounds perfect in this book. I moved to a small rural community two years ago and this book brought back all the feels of that adventure. Bookshop on the Corner is my new pick for an easy, lighthearted read.

This was a total book dragon purchase. Look at that cover! Gorgeous. ❤️
Perfect quick read for my day. I needed something short and easy to digest after my Strange the Dreamer binge read. An Enchantment of Ravens fit the bill. I didn't love it but I did appreciate that it gave me some ACOTAR setting feels and some Wintersong romance feels.

My audiobook for this week. I have a feeling I'm going to pick up the hardcover and binge read this weekend.

OceanCityMama I can't wait to see what you think! You've never read Laini Taylor right? I can't remember if you finished DOSAB. I hadn't before Strange and I binged her entire catalogue after, I'm hopelessly addicted to her stories. 7y
coastalreader @OceanCityMama I loved it. I tried reading this back in the summer and couldn't sink my teeth into it. I think the audiobook got me started this time around and I was just hooked. I must read DOSAB now. 7y
OceanCityMama It has a weird beginning, on my second read through I noticed it took 100 pages before the plot really began, everything before that is a lot of telling and context. Which is incredible, but not if you're waiting to get hooked! Lol DOSAB is basically the opposite, it has instant hook, no worries there! 7y

I started with the audiobook. Beautiful narration! I became so involved with the story I had to finish it up immediately. There was no waiting for my next commute. Luckily, I had just picked up a hardcover copy. When you're compelled to fall in love with flesh eating, man killing horses...that's some good writing.

OceanCityMama I loved it! I think it's my second favorite MS book, behind The Raven Boys. 7y

My daughter picked it up for herself based on the cover but I went ahead and did a preread, since it was in YA section of the library. I ended up really enjoying it. The world building was quick but clear. The brother / sister relationship is sweet. I loved Jonathan's growth during the story and think my daughter and I can can talk about some real big kid stuff after she reads this. ❤️📚

I finished this up yesterday. I was confused and uncomfortable and really just not sure if I had enjoyed the read. Some sleep and time to marinate with all that happened to the beautiful, strange, and flawed characters was all I needed. I love it now. 😁 I'm excited to talk it over with book club.

I loved this book. I picked it up to preread for my daughter's TBR pile, but it was clear from the start it wasn't a good fit for a ten year old. I'm sold on this series and will be anxiously awaiting the sequel.
I also feel like I need to add that I felt like a dork while loving this book. I'm all about fantasy books but there's something about this one that is just off and nerdy in a weird way, but its weirdness made it endearing for me.

It was a good read. It was hard for me to get into at the beginning. I found myself complaining to my husband about the handful of disasters Fallon finds herself in early on. Once we got past that, it was good for me. 😊 Lots of action and suspense towards the end.
I'll be buying a copy of this book and adding it to my collection.

The sequel to Rebel of the Sands did not disappoint. I need to the next book yesterday.
There are a lot of characters in this story and keeping them strait is a bit of a challenge. I'm sure I'll need to reread the first two when the third comes out. Betrayal, magic, light romance, and bad ass lovable / love to hate characters. This series is a good time.

This is a stand alone but I feel like there's more story coming, or maybe I'm hoping for more. Hoping hard. Fynn has a past and Bridey needs to work through it way more than she did in this book. Give me more! 🤓This read is right in between a pick and a so-so for me.

I'm bummed that I am late to the Tearling party but so excited that I don't have to wait to read the conclusion. This second book in the Tearling trilogy was great. We learn more about Lily and the Red Queen, and this fantasy book gets a dystopian feel. I can't wait for reading time tonight so I can finish this series.

This was an unusual and unexpected series. The characters are lovable and I'll remember them for some time. Ronan has his own room in the book boyfriend chamber of my heart. There were enough loose ends at the conclusion of this series that I don't feel satisfied. I could use a Raven Boys novella...or newsletter. I'd take a status update. Throw me a bone, Stiefvater.
