Today‘s #chillingphotochallenge is #vampire. My friend had to convince me to read the Sookie Stackhouse series, then to watch True Blood after because I thought both would be scary, esp the show. The first book introduces us to vampires, a telepath, and a shapeshifter. Bill and Eric are the 2 main vampires in this first book. And who doesn‘t like Alexander Skarsgard as Eric? 🔥🔥 @Clwojick

This is a re-read for me. I have decided to finish all of the series that I have started and not finished. I still love Sookie and the vampire world that Harris has create. The first novel has a fantastic plot and the mystery is very compelling. Well worth the time.

So far everyone in this book is a big idiot but at the same time I‘m like oooh what are the idiots gonna do next 😬

Finished listening to this last night. I enjoyed it. I know I‘m late to the party, but it‘s ok. I‘ll be starting the next one in the series soon. #Chirp

Also, I just realized that I didn‘t post a #checkin for the #BFC on Saturday. That‘s because I was super busy. I‘ve been keeping active and surpassing my FitBit step goal. I had to change it from 9,000 steps to 11,000 to make it more of a challenge. 🙂

Here are the books and a comic collection I finished in July

I enjoyed the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I never really watched True Blood except for a few trailers here and there. It seems like the characters were pretty close to how the book describes though.

Another fine walk at Sinnissippi Riverfront Park. We are being more active now, going on walks. It had definitely helped us feel better physically and emotionally. 🙂👍🏽
We saw this in the river and it was too cool not to take a pic and share it. Someone painted this tree in the middle of the river green and attached something red at the ends to make it look like moving tongues.

I finished this through sheer grit and determination. #unpopularopinion I really disliked this. I didn‘t care for any of the characters, and the romance felt far fetched and kind of icky bc he‘s a dick.

I truly enjoyed this fun, kooky novel. Having seen True Blood, I knew what I was letting myself in for, and wasn't disappointed.
Sookie is a blond waitress from Bon Temps, who just also happens to be telepathic. Her world gets even weirder when a vampire walks into her bar.
It's not a heavy read, it fun, maybe not for ppl who are not fans of kinky business, but it was right up my street.

Good installment

This was entertaining even if the end felt rushed up and out of the blue.

So this happened 🤓 Why have I been writing less the past few weeks? Well, there were some books that had my attention 😂🙈📖 Everybody needs a juicy page-turner once in a while—okay, or 12 😅 So I've been getting up to speed on the Sookie Stackhouse novels since I never watched past the first season of TrueBlood.

Q - What's your latest guilty pleasure read?

Just getting it out there I have not seen the tv show. Having kids that were young when it cam out made arching anything like that really hard! The books though I have read! I think I fell a bit in love with bill in this book!

This was a reread and still a Pick for me. I‘m hoping to read the whole series, and once this semester is over, I plan on doing a whole-lotta reading.

I‘m in the mood for some vampires. I read this many years ago, as well as the second one, and stopped for some reason (I think we moved and I went through a period where I wasn‘t reading much). I‘ve watched True Blood, and recently started rewatching it. Made me in the mood to give the whole series a try.

Loved the tv show so hopefully the books don‘t disappoint!

If you don't know about Sookie, definitely look into her. The HBO show derails from the book series, so they can be entirely different entities on their own. Watch the show. Read the books. However you wanna do things.

This book introduced me to the seductive world of the paranormal. I reread this when I want to feel nostalgic. Still a great read years later.

This is a re-read for me but it's been eons since the first time I read it.

I own most of this series, not made into movies, but made into a t.v series. I happen to only own the first season XD

Question for those of you who use LibraryThing:

If you reread books, do you change the date finished in the LT database to the last time you finished the book or do you leave the first date? I'm a big rereader, and I hadn't been changing the date, but with series rereads, I sometimes forget where I am when I don't read the entire series in one go. So, I'm thinking maybe I should start changing the date to the most recent finish. Thoughts?

And how could I not feature my favourite ever Viking Vampire,Eric Northman & his super disdainful,sarcastic sidekick, Pam,his twinset & pearls wearing progeny. I finally caved and started reading the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. So far it‘s pretty good!

Ehhhhh. I really didn‘t love this book. I wanted to but it just wasn‘t for me. I‘ve been told to keep going and try book two so we will see.

Loving this series! This is the first of the series. I couldn‘t put it down! Read it in a day!

Wait, what? How did I not know that True Blood was based off of this series?

I‘m hooked! I‘ll take a break, but already have the next book in the series ready. I‘m not a huge fan of vampires and/or romance books, but I really enjoyed this one. I can see why this became a popular tv show. Once I‘m caught up with “Sharp Objects” I‘ll have to check it out on demand. I think Sookie is now one of my favorite characters.

Rereading this series currently. I looooove how it‘s written; it‘s small towny and you pretty much have to read it with a southern accent 👌🏻 I tried to watch the tv show but the plot and the tone are entirely different from how Charlaine Harris first created it to be. As usual, the books are so much better!

I may have teared up a little when I met Charlaine Harris today. Sookie Stackhouse has gotten me through some low times, including the 4 months I spent on bed rest during my last pregnancy. Those books are my go-to reread whenever I'm feeling blue.

I enjoyed my reread of this series starter (I think I bought this at a Borders Express, in a mall. Guess it was a while ago). Pros: good foundation for the series, strong characters. Cons: Bill‘s allure (beyond the initial fascination) is kind of inexplicable, the mystery is resolved abruptly in the last few pages. Overall a 3/5 ⭐️.
