Received in my @aardvarkbookclub box today. Have heard only rave reviews, which has me very intrigued. Will probably finish the ILT first. Loved My Heart is a Chainsaw.

CarolynM Glad to have you back, Scott. 6mo
Suet624 I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. 6mo
eclectic-reader @CarolynM Thanks!! 📚📚 6mo
eclectic-reader @Suet624 I'm hit & miss with some of his novels, but I have a good feeling about this one. 6mo
Suet624 That‘s funny. I was going to say he was hit or miss for me! (edited) 6mo

#WhereAreYouMonday
I am all over the globe in Preston's latest essay collection: tracking a serial killer in Florence, discovery of human remains in the Himalayas, detailing the controversies surrounding one of the oldest skeletons unearthed in N America & in my favorite piece so far (link below) a plausible explanation for the Dyatlov Pass incident:

Leftcoastzen Undercover? Missed you ! 🕵️‍♂️ 6mo
eclectic-reader @Leftcoastzen Lol how are you? 6mo
Leftcoastzen As good as could be expected amongst the crazy times,my ability to concentrate enough to read is a little fragile, how you doin‘? 6mo
eclectic-reader @Leftcoastzen Crazy times indeed. Reading focus can definitely be challenging, for sure. Hope you get yours back! I had a lot of trouble reading over the winter as I had a lot going on, but things are starting to calm down now. 6mo

As all of my books are currently packed from my recent move, I went to B & N this afternoon to reread The Monkey in Skeleton Crew. While there I was happy to find the tagged book, recently reissued due to an adaptation. I've had my eye on it for awhile but copies have always been pretty expensive.

Graywacke Nice! I did some poetry shopping just yesterday, looking for some classicist-tilted poets. I bought used books by four authors: James Lasdun, Carolyn Kizer, Daryl Hine and Richard Wilbur. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Graywacke It's been a few years since I've read them, but I remember enjoying both Kizer and Wilbur. I've been meaning to check out Wilbur's translations of Moliere's plays. 6mo
BookmarkTavern Congrats on the find! Thanks for posting! 6mo

Reggie I love Stinger so much! And boooooo to moving. Moving sucks. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Reggie Sooo many books 📚 📚 📚 📚 I think I stacked Stinger bc of your review. I got your package in the mail before I moved 💙💙 6mo
Reggie Yay, I‘m glad. If you‘ve read Under the Dome by King, you‘ve read Stinger, but Stinger is my favorite. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Reggie I have not read UTD yet I'm accumulating a King backlog, but I have yet to read any McCammoon which I *definitely* plan on fixing this year 6mo
Reggie Omg, you‘re sooooo lucky to get to read him for the first time. All of his books are on Hoopla. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Reggie For some reason I thought he had passed away and when I looked it up recently, I was surprised. I definitely need to read Swan Song and Stinger this year. 6mo
Reggie Let me know when you read Swan Song and I‘ll read it with you. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Reggie I plan on reading it soon, so I'll definitely tag you 6mo
Addison_Reads I'm down to join a Swan Song buddy read with you guys. Tag me too. 6mo
eclectic-reader @Addison_Reads That sounds great. I'll def. tag you! 6mo
Leniverse What happened to your old account?! 😱 Glad to see you anyway. And I've been meaning to read Swan Song for the past several months. I need a buddy read to get me started. 6mo
eclectic-reader @leniverse I'll definitely make sure to tag you when I start 6mo

Watched last night. Deliciously unhinged. One of my favorite king adaptations. Not often that I rewatch a movie, but I'm seriously considering going to see this one again before it leaves theatres.

sarahbarnes Scott! Hi! So good to see you back here! 😀 6mo

eclectic-reader @BarbaraBB I'm not familiar with either one but will look into both 📚🍷 6mo

CBee SCOTTTTTTT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️ Sorry I haven‘t responded to your email (again). This year basically sucks lol and I feel like I‘d just be complaining 😳😂🤦‍♀️ @eclectic-reader (edited) 6mo
TrishB Hi 👋 I haven‘t seen this one! May have to search it out. Good to see you again. 6mo
eclectic-reader @CBee No worries, although I'm always available for any complaint so if you change your mind feel free to vent. I totally understand about crappy times. Hoping things will be on the mend soon 💙 6mo
eclectic-reader @TrishB 👋 Highly recommend. Will definitely be a favorite of the year. I hope that you've been well 6mo
CBee @eclectic-reader I know, and I‘m grateful 🙂 Same goes for you if you need a vent session! 6mo
Megabooks Soooo happy you‘re back!! I‘m kind of scarce because my dad had a second massive stroke, and my family is adjusting, but I‘ll have to keep an eye on what you‘re reading. 👀💜 6mo
eclectic-reader @Megabooks I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Meg. 💙 6mo
Megabooks Thanks, Scott 💜 6mo
Reggie I have not seen this. I‘ve been trapped in the 30 something seasons of Beat Bobby Flay. I just put him in the background and go about my business. I haven‘t even been reading horror lately. Also, I‘m glad you‘re back. You have been missed! 6mo
eclectic-reader @Reggie If there's one food channel celebrity I think that is an actual good cook from my extremely limited viewing time the past few years, it's Flay. Thanks so much for the welcome back, friend (edited) 6mo
Addison_Reads Welcome back! I, too, was a big fan of this adaptation. I laughed, I gasped at some jump scares that got me, but most of all, I enjoyed every single demented moment. 😁 6mo
eclectic-reader @Addison_Reads Thanks! A very demented movie; in the best possible way. ☠ 6mo
Branwen Ooooooh I need to see this! 😱 6mo
eclectic-reader @Branwen As a fellow constant reader, I think that you will love it 6mo

Current reads:
* 20 pages per day of Mansfield Park (it's wonderful reading Austen again, the nuances and the wit are one of the reasons I'm taking my time)
*2 essays per day in Preston's The Lost Tomb
*Starting dilouie's How to Make a Horror Movie & Survive
