Yeah I bailed on this one. Not my type of book. Good for her to tell her story its just a bit too....preachy for me. DNF

Finished my third book for #BookSpinBingo. Feels strange reading her books out of order but it helps me piece together her story.
I finished this book last week. I really enjoyed it. The only thing that bothered me was that some of the stories/essays were out of chronological order. Other then that, AMAZING book!
In honor of #internationalwomensday2020 I have a stack of books by some of my favorite women authors. There are SO MANY amazing women writing SO MANY great books. Why not pick one up today? If you don't know where to start, might I suggest one of these. 😉
“Keep good books within reach. Start with Traveling Mercies. David Sedaris is good too. If you don‘t have any good books, go to the library. If you don‘t have a library card, apply for one. This will #stress you out. You will worry that the librarian will sense that you are a disaster and reject you. Listen: they don‘t know, and they don‘t care. They gave me a card, and I‘ve got a rap sheet as long as your arm.”

Bought a ticket to see Glennon Doyle weeks ago, and was not looking forward to having to put on real clothes today. 😉 But now- glad I am here. I have heard her speak before and she is wonderful.
Inflammation flare up this week - spending quiet time today with this book from the library! Looks like a book I will finish in one sitting ... maybe. Update: finished it ... hated the fact it was cheap paperback edition - the feel of the crappy paper it was printed on certainly detracts from the experience. It did not live up to reviews at all. Disappointed!
Just finished this book. It wasn‘t what I was expecting when I picked it up, but I enjoyed it all the same. This was my favorite excerpt of the book. I thought it was a lovely image. God? I‘m going to dance. 💃
If you read while waiting for an oil change, you might be a book nerd. 🙋🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤓
The rain helped drop the temperatures to bearable so me and my boy are enjoying the great outdoors while we can! Almost halfway through this one. I was expecting more advice than memoir but it‘s pretty good so far!
I can see why people like this book. Too over dramatic for me.
If, anywhere in your soul, you feel the desire to write, please write. Write as a gift to yourself and others. Everyone has a story to tell.
Not my usual read, but my wife suggested it as good discussion for marriage-related topics. It was a pleasant surprise. I laughed quite a bit and found it very honest. It reads quick as it is mostly blog posts from Momastery.com and, since it's a few years old, it makes interesting reading if you know what happens after the book's publication.
1. Done. Not my typical read.
2. I always read but when I was in law school reading for pleasure wasn‘t really an option. So after law school, I rediscovered my love of reading for pleasure and now it‘s what I most enjoy.
3. Right before bedtime.
4. So many - Harry Potter, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Hitchhiker‘s Guide. I could go on & on.

“Life is hard—not because you‘re doing it wrong, just because it‘s hard. It‘s okay to talk, write, paint, or cry about that. It helps.”
I can already tell this is going to be a use-a-full-tin-of-book-darts kind of book. Always a good sign.
Part of my To Read or Re-Read shelf I just put together for my upcoming recovery time after surgery.
This book was everything — it was inspiring, motivating, breath taking... most importantly empowering! 🌼 it was all the feels & more, I highly recommend! ⭐️
This book was thrown in my path Saturday and I'm embracing my messy, beautiful life right now.
I was looking forward to this, but found the Christianity parts too heavy-handed and some of the language and ideas around needing relationships grating. The parts I liked reminded me of Tiny Beautiful Things... except I liked Strayed's writings better. I can see why this would be a great set of heartfelt essays for some, but it just wasn't for me.
I am not a religious person, but I really enjoyed Glennon's writing in Love Warrior. Here's to hoping I enjoy my next read of hers just as much ❤
For all of you marching tomorrow - and all of you who cannot - we stand together. Strong. As a wife of a carpenter I. Love. This. https://vimeo.com/143054338 #sistering #womensmarch
I'll be meditating on this one for a while.
#kickassheroines #seasonsreadings2016 Glennon has stomped on years of addiction and messy living. (Photo from her Instagram)
After reading Love Warrior, I felt compelled to try Melton's first book. It hasn't disappointed me. The words flow, just as the emotions on each page. I urge you to read this.
So I've started reading this and like Love Warrior, I can't help but relate to so much of what Melton writes. Did she read my heart or something?
Some of the essays were just fantastic.
Read this before Love Warrior.
This book is my little cheerleader. 🎉 Glennon is always inspiring. Much like St Anne. And I live in organized chaos. #reallifeperson #octphotochallenge @LibrarianRyan
I read this in anticipation of reading her new book & Oprah book club pick. She is humorous and honest and I related to most of her stories.
Carry on warrior, six hours til bedtime!!!
This is precious! Grown up lunches!
I need to learn this, now
"That's how you can tell that you're filling yourself with the wrong things. You use a lot of energy, and in the end, you feel emptier and less comfortable than ever."
They have low expectations. I love the library. Also the church. Both have to take you in.
These things remind me that it's not my job to fill myself.
When you're all hole, God fits.
I loved this. If you are not a Christian (I consider myself a hopeful agnostic), the Christianity part can feel a bit heavy-handed, but there is so much good stuff in here! Her attitudes toward love and shame and parenting are relatable and refreshing.
One week from tonight, I'll be seeing Glennon Doyle Melton speak.
Maybe the battles of life are best fought without armor and without weapons.
Five stars. Felt like an older version of me talking to myself. Love her openness and just...everything about her.
❤️
I try to keep myself reading one book on my "Pre-Mission Trip" book list at all times. After a really hard day but wonderful encouragement from my team, I decided to pick this one up. I'm crying now, and feel like an older me is talking to me. I love this book.
Also picked this one up and dipping in and out. Looking forward to her upcoming book, too! Really inspiring and giving me lots of food for thought!
My dad is my Atticus Finch. I really love this book.
For the August book challenge, #booksthatmakemesmile. I love Glennon's vulnerability and honesty about the difficulty of life. The icing on the cake is the humor in which she delivers her stories. Reading her book is like getting a big bear hug and remembering why life is worthwhile. #augustofpages #augustphotochallenge
