⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I thought I enjoyed sleep. Why do I read this stuff?! Curiosity? Is my brain broken? After reading his daughter‘s memoir, it felt natural to read about Dennis Rader‘s ultimate takedown. That, of course, includes the painful details of his crimes. I laughed as this book highlighted how truly stupid he was right before being caught. Technological advances will get your ass! May he rot in prison until unusually old. Death would be a respite.

Didn't get to post last night but finished this yesterday. I was never interested in BTK until I read A Serial Killer's Daughter and realized exactly how under the radar Dennis Rader made himself. I mean, he was the guy next door! This was well researched and very in depth. Great book.

Fascinating look at the hunt for this disgusting serial killer.

Starting a new book today. I‘m a serial killer enthusiast and I love to read true crime. This is one of those cases that I find absolutely fascinating.

I was 4 years old when BTK began killing. My Mother grew up in Wichita and my Grandparents lives there until their deaths. My Grandmother worked at the Sedgwick County Courthouse. I remember overheating the adults talking about the murders over the years when they thought I was asleep. I spent many nights scared that he might kill my family. I am glad he was finally caught in 2005 and will die in prison.

I listened to this as an audiobook, which might have been part of why it wasn't a pick. At times with all the information being presented, I found myself drifting while listening and not retaining all the details. Several times I had to back-up and listen to a section again. I might revisit it one day in print form.

The audiobook was good. Half of it focuses on the police working to capture BTK and half focuses on Denis Raider, the BTK killer.

One more true crime before I switch back to a fiction book. I was going to after the last book but I just listened to a podcast about Dennis Rader.

This was not any easy read- you may want to skip my review...this book contains explicit details of rape and torture including of a child. I had a very hard time reading it- and did not read it at night. It also indicates that being a victim of a Serial killer is like winning Shirley Jackson‘s lottery. There are places where the editing was choppy, and I wish I had taken notes to keep track. But I loved the human side of the law enforcement, cont.

I just couldn‘t with this book. I had hopes to completely finish it before the new year, but I‘ve decided it‘s not fair to have my “last” book be this.
The writing style is just poor, the story line is choppy, and what should be an interesting look about a serial killer is just plain boring. 😒

3. True crime. Creepy stuff
4. About two weeks ago, from Dairy King, a local burger place. They were heavenly.

I wouldn't normally recommend a book like this but the reasons that I have listed I do not like the book are reasons that somebody else may indeed like it. So with that in mind, I would recommend this book to people who like cops and robbers, mystery, and true crime.
