Different reaction as an adult but full of good nostalgic memories. I liked these covers. So good to start from book 1 to remember how everything started. As I say, it was viewed from another perspective. Now I think how a middle age child will think about Nancy, who is 18 years old? Have you try these books with younger persons? Do they still read these stories in a world full of technology? Have you recommended these books to your children? ⬇️

Gissy I enjoyed the mystery and of course love Nancy as a female detective. She is 18 years old but in sometimes behave younger. So lovely the relationship she has with her father3.5⭐️

MommyOfTwo I don‘t think I‘ve ever read any but my son came up with a good title for one. Nancy Drew and the Runaway Shoe. We laughed so hard for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 11mo

1. Yes, but it wasn't well enough to deal with the inclines when I lived in Seattle.
2. Nancy's convertible.

The story that turned me into a fanatic lover of detective fiction. Nancy Drew embodies the kind of girl we all wanted to be: beautiful, beyond clever, adventurous, inquisitive, friendly, I mean she even drives a convertible at 18! The story holds up well, though I found I was quite nostalgic while reading it. The puzzle is easier to solve as an adult (esp. with the title), but it doesn't make it any less fun. #NancyDrewBR #ChildrensClassicRead

dabbe @TheBookHippie I admit I was surprised at her being locked in the closet; I thought the thugs were quite rough for an ND mystery! 🤩 (edited) 13mo
TheBookHippie @dabbe well I mean …. 👀🤣 they did it to children as punishment around these parts - the “Christians” 13mo
dabbe @TheBookHippie Why am I not surprised? Now that you mention it, my mom did try and lock my sister in her bedroom to “keep her out of trouble.“ She just escaped through the window--until they put locks on that as well. #sucharebel #thosewerenotthegoodoldays (edited) 13mo
tpixie @dabbe the locked closet was a little tense 😬 13mo
dabbe @tpixie It was, wasn't it? I kept thinking how I didn't remember such a tense seen in a Nancy Drew book, but boy, was I wrong! 🤣 13mo
tpixie @dabbe 👍🏻. BTW- I love that photo!! 13mo

4✨It was so nice getting to revisit this as an adult. Nancy witnesses a little girl almost get hit by a vehicle and it leads her to believe there may be another will from the late Mr Crowley. Her sleuthing leads her to other that could also be connected to another will. I really enjoyed this story and would only change the title so we can be a little more surprised. #NancyDrewBR @Librarybelle #ChildrensClassicRead2023 @TheBookHippie

TheBookHippie It was a fun nostalgic read! I agree about the title! 13mo

Such a nostalgic read! When I was in 1st grade measles invaded our household. My older bother & sister & me were all in a room together for the duration of the illness. Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys were their reads during recovery, so of course I wanted to read what they were reading. That‘s when I read my first Nancy Drew and I was hooked.
What fun to return as an adult, & be reminded of how feisty, intelligent,& independent Nancy was in the 1950s.

Librarybelle I love reading these discovery stories! Revisiting Nancy Drew as an adult I think will be a really fun experience for the group! 13mo

I jumped the gun and read this early. This was my second read and only read of a Nancy Drew title. I never read her as a child but I certainly hope to read more as an adult. Obviously this is very dated and a very quick read but Nancy Drew as an mc is still timeless.

I love that we have an entire room full of books in our house - and that my youngest daughter loves looking through them and finding a stack that interest her.
