For this month's #BacklistReadathon, I'm concentrating on Seanan McGuire's backlist, starting with the tagged book. Her October Daye series is one that I'm focussing on for #SeriesLove2023.

I'm in the middle of so many series, but these three are the ones I'd especially like to concentrate on in 2023:
- October Daye
- Inspector Maigret
- Malazan Book of the Fallen
The next books to read are shown in the image. I've not much hope of finishing these series in 2023 (or even in my lifetime, in the case of Maigret) but I'll be happy if I make some progress!

so-soI think I need to take a break from this series. The jokes are all sounding the same, and this one asks me to believe that restoring a hereditary monarchy is a solution, which ... yeah, no it's not. I'll probably pick it up again sometime because the character, cast, and world do still appeal to me.
pickWhen it feels like October‘s life is finally under control, goblin fruit starts showing up in her neighborhood, killing changelings. And she might also have to overthrow the Queen of Mists. But no big deal, right?
One my my fave things about this series is it‘s continuity. Things from previous books have consequences. And October‘s growth is clear in every book. And I really like how each secondary character gets growth and background. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
