4/5 stars. A poignant teenage love story.

Lily is ADHD, Abelard is on the autism spectrum. They‘re an unlikely pair, but having a wonky brain helps you appreciate other people having a wonky brain. Their tentative relationship is challenged when he moves for school and she decides to have brain surgery to make her brain less wonky.

Knitting and reading on a quiet Saturday. Not sure why I picked out this yarn, several years ago. It‘s pretty, but it‘s not my normal kind of colors. I tend to stick to jewel tones. I like how it‘s working up, though. It‘ll go with a gray sweater, I guess.

What a sweet, intentional, and honest book about the lives of two atypical teens. If you liked Eleanor & Park or Helen Hoang‘s books, this is a great read with those same feelings and concepts.

Yay jet lag—I‘m awake and that means I have extra reading time! Bummer—it‘s not even 4:30am & I have roommates (excavation accommodations are not luxurious) so no lights and no reading Mr. Mercedes or The Wanted. Awesome—I get to start a new book (eBook to the rescue) and I pick this one!

This was a really quick read but it packed a punch! I really enjoyed it!

Enjoying some morning snuggles and this adorable #ownvoices YA romance. It‘s another dreary, cold day and I never want to leave this spot.

While the title gives the impression of strictly another YA romance, this book really is more about Lily learning how to deal with her ADHD. Her relationship with Abelard, a boy with Asperger‘s, is adorable and sweet as they exchange medieval quotes via text and, in the end, helps her to better understand herself and what she wants from life. I loved both Lily and Abelard, and I loved the story.

A super sweet and emotional love story about a girl with ADHD and a boy with Asperger's. Definitely a great addition to the amount of #ownvoices novels now out there, offering voices to two groups of young people who we need to read more about to understand their challenges and successes in this world. The inner voice of Lily along with the love letters/text messages exchanged between her and Abelard add a deep connection to both characters.

I am on a total YA kick lately and this one popped out at me when I was unpacking our latest shipment. Plus the author is coming to our local Teen Book Con so I definitely need to dive into this.

I am listening to this currently and I love it! Lily, who often doesn‘t take her ADHD medications is heartfelt, loving, impetuous, and imperfect in her life. She has a complicated life and is trying to navigate it, but usually trips. With a few people rooting for her and encouraging her, and I find that I am rooting right along side with them.

This was my last read for 2017. I rather liked this book. I read it in one sitting. The mental health aspect of the story was very interesting.

Not epistolary, however, still enjoyable. Main character has ADHD. It's about her style to "not break things". Possible idealization of there other (grass is greener on the other side). Quick read

One of the best books I've read this year. To be"broken" is something I understand as is getting it fixed and everything in between

It all started when Lily ditched her ADHD meds and ended up in detention with Abelard. He has Asperger‘s, and seems thirty seconds behind, while she feels thirty seconds ahead.

But when Abelard posts a quote from The Letters of Abelard and Heloise online, their mutual affinity for ancient love letters connects them. But is it enough to bridge their differences in person?

Talk about 21st century virtual/real life love...😅📚
