THE CHILDREN‘S HOSPITAL BOOK MARKET IS BACK!!!! I browsed around for a good while this morning and snickered at every single [Genre] AF section because I have the sense of humour of a stereotypical 12-year-old boy.

This day calls for some much-needed relaxing with a yummy candle and a few good books. And yes, that is a top hat on my ceramic fox. I thought it made him look jaunty 🦊😅
First fantasy book I every read was Wishsong of Shanarra and the first writers conference I went to I was able to meet him. Can‘t wait for RavenCon in Williamsburg VA!
Yesterday was weird. In the morning I went and picked up a free tube tv I found in the classifieds so I could hook up my snes. I spent the afternoon playing TMNT Turtles in Time and then early evening I watched X-Men cartoons and finished the night off reading this book.
Blast from the past much? I only intended on taking a peek at the book but all of a sudden I was halfway through. Guess I'ma finish it tonight. 😅

Terry Brooks was the first fantasy author I read back in the 90s. I immediately fell in love with the Shannara trilogy (no longer a trilogy). He is a lover of books, but he definitely loves The Lord of the Rings. My favorite book of his is Magic Kingdom for Sale.
And with that, I finished the quarter for #booked2018 JUST under the wire!!! This is my #childhoodfavorite reread. I read it when I was 12 or so and loved it, read the whole series, much prefer it to the Shanara books. But I don‘t remember it being this dark!! A little slow, but I still love the story. @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft
I couldn't pick just one #BookishMap! A few of my favourite worlds to visit are those created by David & Leigh Eddings, Terry Brooks (Landover), Stephen R. Donaldson (the Land) and Frank Herbert (Dune). #ReadingResolutions
Absolutely fantastic!!! Not that I expected anything less from Terry Brooks
There are three things I can never get enough of: books, penguins, and tea! #BookandDrinkILove #tea #17BookLove
Ben purchases a Magic Kingdom from Rosen's annual Christmas Wishbook and enters it through a large oak #tree located in the forest outside of Charlottesville, VA.
I have no idea why this came to mind for today's post since I read this almost 30 years ago. I guess I am in for a re-read since I went through the trouble to pull it off the basement bookshelf.

#TBT After I'd burned through Narnia this was the next big fantasy series that sucked me in & gave me a great new world to explore. Who wouldn't want to chuck it all & buy a magic kingdom of their own to run away to? Lots of people I'm sure, but when it turns out to be more than a scam, Ben Holiday is as surprised as anyone & that's before the dragon, talking dog, tree folk, oh & did I mention the demon that wants to claim this kingdom as his own?
