Been reaching deep into my TBR list. Enjoyed 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥 by 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐢, the 4th in his Tracy Crosswhite series, and am back to 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐠 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐳's Orphan X series. 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐭, the 3rd volume, is guaranteed to keep me engrossed & invested in The Nowhere Man's latest mission by the pool this afternoon! Forecast: 87 degrees! 🌞

Snow day B&B: breakfast & book. I‘m reading Hellbent (third Orphan X book). If you like over-the-top super secret agent stuff, this is for you. Hurwitz is funny, too. I particularly like his treatment of women- they are generally badasses (even the ones being rescued from desperate circumstances). He fully points out through the action that women have their own types of power, as well as being able to be physically & intellectually strong.

Great narrator, Scott Brick really brought the story to life and suuted the genre perfectly.
What I like about Orphan X books, particularly this one is that Evan shows character development. Forced to take responsibility on a more permanent basis for a teenaged girl, he rises to the challenge, in the process confronting his own relationship with Jack. Joey is also no damsel in distress and is pivotal in providing him IT support.
pickThis is an explosive, thrilling, heart-raising instalment. I love this series so much. Hellbent sees Orphan X having to deal with this own past, present and future under the pressure of being hunted by fellow Orphans who want him dead, caring for a package left by his murdered handler and still answering the calls of The Nowhere Man. It is a non-stop action thriller so buckle in and make sure you've got back up!

I read Buy A Bullet last night (really only a chapter long) but a great set up to stepping back into this series. I love this series it has a Jason Bourne feel and I'm a sucker for an action thriller

The narrator of this #audiobook is brilliant. Sounds like the narrator of the twilight zone in a 50s special 😂
✨Then, of course, I go to the Little Library that's literally across the street from me (dangerously close) to drop off the book that I already have in hardcover (3rd Degree)- and come back with two more books. 🤷📚

I read a total of 5142 pages (14 eBooks, 7 print books) and listened to 16 hours and 45 minutes of audiobooks (3 books). pickI had not meant to stay up late to finish it, but once I hit the 85% mark, time stopped and only the book existed. This was another phenomenal entry in the series. An action-packed, edge-of-your-seat thriller with heart. I love Evan and I really hope Hurwitz writes more of his story. The ending was perfect. Thanks to @TrishB for getting me hooked on this series!
Not strictly book related, but I have no cooking skills. Fortunately for my taste buds (not so much for my waistline or budget) my favorite restaurant delivers. My absolute favorite meal-schnitzel, spaetzle, and kartoffelpuffer. This book is stressing me out, so I need #comfortfood Oh, and they gave me pretzel rolls. These are even better than the ones I‘ve made. Soooo yummy.

pickBeen a stressful week, I was determined to have just a reading day today and I did! Read this one, they are exactly as described, fast paced, full on thrillers I always liken to an episode of 24!
I like the way the story lines are developing and still think Evan is a great character. Exactly what was needed today 😁
