Day 25 - #WishesKisses #DearDecember

An uplifting, beautiful story about never letting go of your dreams, the special magic of a family Christmas… and the rush of falling in love under the mistletoe.

A fun batch of Christmas movies I watched this week (some more ridiculous than others 😂). My favorite of them was Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses, based on the tagged book (which I now need to read). #wintergames #merryreaders

In order to enjoy this book you have to suspend reality for a moment... imagine the super cheesy Hallmark Movie with the super cheesy characters and plot that you watch under your blankets at home with all the feels...but then when it‘s finished you immediately are like “ehh what‘s next.” all the feel-good Cinderella character tropes...rich “prince” saves poor “cinder-maid”....millionaire “saves” nurse/novice interior decorator.solid 3⭐️⭐️⭐️stars!

This book was spot made for Hallmark. With a Cinderella (whose a single mom) makes a millionaire fall for her troupe. It was one that I couldn‘t put down. If your looking for a story to put you into the holiday season check this one out. I can‘t wait for the movie on Oct. .26th!!

I liked this book for the Christmas fluff that it is!!! Just like a hallmark movie, you know how it is going to end but you go along for the ride anyway!!

This is between a pick and a so-so for me. Though it was very Christmasy, I personally found the main character needy and annoying. The over the top teenagerish mooning over the guy was a bit too much for me. I think this would make a cute movie, because then you don‘t have to hear the main characters repetitive thoughts about the guy that she‘s crushing on. Overall it was kinda cute, but just okay in my opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m decorating my Christmas tree and listening to this audiobook today. We have about a bazillion ornaments, but I‘m hoping to finish the tree today. 🎄

RebL I had a very traditional upbringing and we don‘t decorate during Advent. I‘m so envious! But, you know, I am a grownup and can make my own choices. ;-) 13mo
GypsyKat @RebL I‘ve never heard of not decorating during Advent. So did you do your Christmas decorating early? But yes! You‘re a grownup now, so do what makes you happy! 😊🎄 13mo
SaunteringVaguelyDownwards Growing up, we usually didn't put our tree up until right before Christmas Eve more because of the craziness of our schedules than strict adherence to Advent. But we put candles in the windows and our Moravian star up. And that tree definitely stayed up through Epiphany--and longer! I've fallen into doing things that way myself. 13mo

GypsyKat @SaunteringVaguelyDownwards We leave our tree up until the end of January every year, just to stretch out the holiday season longer. 13mo
RebL My mom now does an Advent tree where she decorates in purple and then changes it to red for Christmas. That‘s too much work for me! I just don‘t decorate until the Sunday before Christmas. Everything stays up until Epiphany (Hey, @SaunteringVaguelyDownwards!) when we bless the house. 13mo
GypsyKat @RebL That does sound like so much work, but I bet it‘s beautiful! 13mo
