Next up for #booked2021 (translated into my fist language) is this book that I have had sitting on my kindle since it was recommended on Litsy. I‘m looking forward to it and really grateful for an excuse to start working through my digital TBR!

This one was quick and had you wondering "who did it" from the very beginning. Although I figured it out it was still good. I liked how they did 3 seperate parts from the pov of the mom, dad, and daughter. Also it was hard to get used to the British narrator at first.

The story felt drawn out. I feel like the book would have been better with a little less. 3⭐ #atticus2016 #lifewithatticuswallace
A young woman is charged with murder, but the pieces aren't lining up. Everyone has a reason to prevaricate so it's not clear who---if anyone---can be trusted.
Told in three voices, this novel addresses the messiness and malleability of "truth." Engaging at first, the courtroom stuff lost me, as did the anachronistic Axe body spray. The novel left me coveting the bikeability of Swedish roadways.
#lastcurrentnext challenge!
Last: Turn of the Key
Current: The Last Time I Lied and A Nearly Normal Family
Next: Fahrenheit 451
I started this one , then I put it into #hibernation... then I took it out again & thought it was ok ... I definitely skimmed a lot towards the end ... a real “So-So” for me ...
My #readinggoals for September: read these books (I‘m trying to get through my backlog of #BOTM books!) and to read one book a month on my #kindle. This month it will be Animal Farm for Banned Books Week.

This should be subtitled “The Perils of Parenting in 2019 When Your Teen is Accused of Killing a Much Older Man.” A lawyer mom and pastor dad with different parenting styles offer their perspectives. Edvardsson weaves it all together with the teen‘s viewpoint as well. He shifts us to past and present but keeps it mostly clear. It‘s a good twisty Swedish thriller! (TW: rape)

I was going to put myself on a book buying ban but it‘s the annual Book Haul event at Barnes & Noble. 🤷🏼♀️
Here‘s a glimpse at my afternoon plans. Doesn‘t get much better than this!
So many plot twists. Just when you think you know, you don‘t.
My girlfriend bought this lovely tray for our coffee table (I have no style... she dresses me too haha) and it‘s perfect for my sketchbook, current book I‘m reading, and other strange everyday stuff I may use! #Aesthetics
I don't want to say to much about this book because it is my pick for this round of #LMPBC. All I will say is this book shows how far parents will go to protect their child. I would give this book a trigger warning. It does talk about sexual assault but it wasn't in graphic detail. It is also the first time I have read one of my #botm books in I don't know how long.
Found this super hard to start and get into bc I thought I just didn't like the authors writing style, but it has 3 POVs and I realized it was just for that particular character and by the end I was shook. So good. Several plot twists and you never really know whats going down lol🤷♀️
I really enjoyed this book. It starts slow and keeps building until I couldn't put it down. I like how it is told in three parts and three different insights. It is a great read!
Thank you Celadon Books and M.T. Edvardsson for the ARC to read and review.
This story is told in three parts, the first is the dad. Then its Stella herself, followed by her mother. The story follows the arrest and subsequent trial with flashbacks from each character explaining how they ended up here. The plot was really interesting and I thought the ending was brilliant. The story flows well and I loved that it was broken up by the different characters so you really felt each emotion. #Netgalley
When one book is done... I‘m only 40 pages in and I just can‘t stop!! And it‘s such a compelling thriller already. Sadly, books costs money and I prefer reading inside, so I must go to work... And it‘s my Book of the Month choice! Do you any one of you have a subscription like me? #bot #bookofthemonth
Ready for 5 days off work. Might as well start it off with a new book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An engaging courtroom thriller told from 3 pov‘s, the father, a pastor, the daughter, the murder suspect, & the mother, a defense attorney. The story had enough mystery to keep the reader turning pages, but I enjoyed the humanity in each section. The struggles of a pastor to do what‘s necessary for his family, the hardships of being a teen & finding your purpose, a working mother‘s guilt. Not overly exciting, but still a good read #botm
Interesting story. I like the perspective of the three family members but felt the self-loathing aspects
A good psychological thriller! What would you do for your kids? Where do you draw the line?
I just want to stay home with my friends today. ❤️ Three days until vacay.
A purring kitten and time to read in the middle of the day. Today I'm living my best life 😎
