Found this yesterday and excited to find the rest of the set! They are gorgeous! The image is engraved into the cover. 😍

So the Tolkien Illustrated Atlas is absolutely gorgeous, full of facts about middle earth and the creatures that live there. And my dragon bookmark matches the cover dragon! So it is a beautiful win for me.

If I hadn‘t already read more than halfway through Christopher Tolkien‘s Histories of Middle Earth, I might have enjoyed this more...but because I did, this seemed a bit off and repetitive in parts, and very oversimplified in others.

I did enjoy the brief overviews and artist renderings though.

Here‘s a good example @JazzFeathers The story tidbit is very short and simplified, so after reading the Silmarillion it‘s definitely not much for Tolkien purists I‘m sure, but for me since I‘ve already read the details, it‘s enough of a reminder... and pictures done by various artists i‘m finding interesting.

It looks like this is the right time to read this brief overview of the world, with great artwork from various sources. I actually feel grounded enough in this world from reading with the #YearOfTolkien group to appreciate all the ”ages”.

Up next for me! I‘m going to peruse this book and it‘s stunning artwork as I continue to work my way through The Letters From Father Christmas through this holiday season 😊

Day 3 of #septemberlibrary17 is favourite fictional world! Mine is without a doubt Tolkien's world 😍 Middle Earth and every thing in it. Saw the movies when I was only 10 years old and loved it ever since.

Well, I sure as hell couldn't not buy these.

I picked this up while out yesterday for Independent Bookstore Day, because, that cover 😍 and I'm a sucker for anything Middle Earth or Tolkien-related 😊

Our family celebrated Christmas a bit early this year because my sister @CaitMobley and her family will be out of town. These were two gifts I received from my mom. They are leather bound 😍 Now I feel like I can finally tackle Tolkein...thanks to @Ambrosnazzy who originally posted about these, as they were quickly added to my Christmas list! #booksfromliberty
