My day thus far: 3 pm - go to animal shelter with my friend because she wants a cat 3:05 pm - find my cat soulmate. 3:06 pm until I die naturally or until Trump has us all killed with WWIII - "please, please, can we adopt this cat?! His name is Rome! He's cuddly. And soft. And purrs loud. And woke up from his nap to cuddle with me..."

MidnightBookGirl I've gotten two cats that my Hubs didn't think we needed. I named the first Joey, because the Hubs likes the Ramones and thought Joey was cute for a girl, and then when she passed, I named the new kitten Alabama, after a character in his favorite movie. 7y

LauraBeth @Cinfhen I did go and look at their dogs and took comfort in realizing how special Bitsy is - I decided that had she been in a cage - I'd adopt her all over again 🐶 she does seem to not ever want to share me though... 7y

kspenmoll We got our first cat , Gentle at a farm my son was taking therapeutic horseback riding. Gentle followed both my husband & Robert everywhere. After a few lessons, I gave in & we took him home. Never regretted it; truly Gentle & perfect family fit.😺 7y

LauraBeth @Susannah I've know my husband for over 20 years and if there is one thing I've learned (the hard way) - he doesn't respond well to shoot first, apologize later 😂he usually always says yes - but it's better if I lead him to think that whatever he's saying yes to is his idea 😀 7y

Rome was brought to the shelter as a kitten two years ago and no one has ever adopted him - so he's been the official shelter cat 😺how people can overlook that baby for two years is beyond me - but apparently, he's just been waiting for me to waltz through the door. But if he's been there for over two years - I should be okay to beg for a day or two without him going anywhere 😻 7y
