Vendetta in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel (In Death, Book 49) | J. D. Robb
20 posts | 24 read | 3 to read
Lieutenant Eve Dallas must keep the predator from becoming the prey in Vendetta in Death, the newest thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author J.D. Robb. She calls herself Lady Justice. And once she has chosen a man as her target, she turns herself into a tall blonde or a curvaceous redhead, makes herself as alluring and seductive as possible to them. Once they are in her grasp, they are powerless. The first victim is wealthy businessman Nigel McEnroy. His companys human resources department has already paid out settlements to a couple of his young victimsbut they dont know that his crimes go far beyond workplace harassment. Lady Justice knows. And in one shocking night of brutality, she makes him pay a much steeper price. Now Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, are combing through the evidence of McEnroys secret life. His compulsive need to record his misdeeds provides them with a wide range of suspects, but the true identity of Lady Justice remains elusive. Its a challenging case, made even more difficult by McEnroys widow, who reacts to the investigation with fury, denial, and threats. Meanwhile, Lady Justices criminal crusade is escalating rapidly, and if Eve cant stop this vigilante, theres no telling how much blood may be spilled...

It‘s hard when you feel justice is not provided when an injustice is commented… what are you left with this provides a glimpse of what happens and what results from injustice a sad and complex read 📖🙌🏽

This is my second “in death” book in this 50 book series. I think I‘m hooked and may have to read the other 48. Did I hear there is a book 51? 🙄

MicheleinPhilly I‘m all for a lengthy series but 50 might be a little too much commitment for me. 3y
Jeannineth @MicheleinPhilly If I read 1 a month, I could be done by December 2022. Sounds doable? 3y

Book 78 audio

Its a JD Robb book. You've read one you've read them all and yet they're each as enjoyable as the last. I guess I like that the reader knows from the start who the killer is but gets to watch Eve figure it out.

I can fly through these books. Love Eve and Roark. Robb has continued to grow these characters throughout the series.

Finished tagged book last night. A straight forward police procedural but always fun to visit this crew.

Had an unforeseen procedure Friday so left work early and went comfort shopping. Got the two books on lower right and some stationary from B&N and some cute butterfly notecards from Homegoods for only $3.99. Now to figure out what to start today after writing more #LitsyLove.

Formulaic & predictable, but I still enjoy the In Death series. And this was a good one—Lady Justice serial killer.

Two #CatsofLitsy on my lap tonight, #MiaCat and #TrickyCat 💜💜💜

Scochrane26 I‘ve always had only one cat at a time. I love that you have so many, but I‘m not sure I would ever get anything done w/ so many needing lap time & attention. How do you all do it? 😻 4y
Leftcoastzen So cute! 4y

This isn't related to this book but I had to tag a book so this is what I'm reading right now. Anyways, sorry I've been M.I.A. for a few months but had a couple of huge personal problems come into my life and had to take a hiatus from all of my social media accounts but boy have I missed being able to post and scroll through on Litsy to see what everyone was up to. I'm ready to get back into the flow of things. Happy Reading!😀📚💕💕

sprainedbrain I‘m sorry you‘ve been having a hard time. Hope things are better! 4y

Book 49 in the JD Robb series. It is always good to visit Eve Dallas and the family she has created. Not one of the most complex cases she has worked, but I found it satisfying nonetheless. A killer with a mission and a comparison of justice inside the boundaries of the law and outside.

A wonderful addition to Eve and Roarke's life. Highly recommend. Someone is targeting men and kidnapping, torturing, and killing them. Eve finds some connections between victims. She has to find Lady Justice before she kills again.

I can't figure out how Robb can still be writing such consistently good books with such a long series. This was exactly what I expect from In Death books - well paced, interesting details and enough levity in dialogue to keep it from bogging down into depressing.
