When I feel the well running dry and lack writing confidence, I pull this one out. This will be the third read.

First time ever that I've wanted a story to be over yet couldn't put it down. One critic described it as "...hefty and static for long stretches." I agree. By the time the whole story broke, I was a bit tired, and I was bored by the main character's moodiness. Still, I gave the book to a friend and said it was a good psychological thriller.
Got this for Christmas. It looks good!
The English adaptation of Stéphane Larue's novel Le plongeur tells the story of a failed graphic design student with a gambling addiction who winds up working as a dishwasher in a high end Montreal restaurant. The level of detail and authenticity about life in the kitchen and in front of the VLTs could only be written by someone who has lived it. Larue's cast of broken characters kept me reading through every soul-sucking page.
"My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes."
I can't give this book a review because I haven't been able to wade through it yet. I know it's brilliant, but a few pages in, I thought my head would explode. It's like a thousand page run-on sentence! Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
I spent more time writing than reading today but thus far, I'm hooked! I'll give a review when I've finished it.
I know every one of the women who contributed to this anthology. Three of my own stories were featured. And now I'm working on a full-length memoir.
I just learned about Litsy this morning and signed up! I'm about to start reading this memoir by Canadian author Stéphane Larue. Looks like it will be a good read. I also realized it coordinates well with my comforter. Now I need to figure out how Litsy works so I can start following people!
