The story was good but it is clear that a man wrote it. The relationship between the two mains is not relatable or realistic. It comes off as an abusive toxic larger than life situation.

I‘ve just finished this as an Audible audiobook. Villanelle does some very naughty murders. She really is a proper little scamp. There‘s an awful lot of lady-on-lady-Villanelle-on-Eve bonking shenanigans. An awful lot. But that isn‘t the only good thing about the book.
Had preordered this and they went and changed the title and my order got postponed. Happily, my friend cleared things up for me and I was able to get it sooner rather then later. Can't wait to see how the story continues. Pulpy spy novels with awesome female protagonists for the win!
More Villanelle!

*Apologize for the sub par picture, was taken on the way to dropping this off before hoping on a plane*
This was a sloooow build for me, it was a quick read (thankfully) but most boring until the finale. Which was excellent, I LOVED how the book ended. Just wish more from the rest of the book. #KillingEve
So I‘ve had a supremely crappy morning.... after leaving my hotel at 4:00 am, had issues with mass transit, I got to my flight 10 minutes before it was suppose to leave and they gave my seat away. So now I‘m on standby for the next 6 hours, at least... ☹️
I plan on finishing this while I‘m here to try and make it better #KillingEve
I was really hesitant in starting this book. I watched the first season of this TV show and I fell in love and told myself I have to read the books. I read the first book and was completely disappointed. Debating on if I should read the second book, I took a chance. I was so glad that I took a chance. This book was 100 times better than the first. This book had more action in it which kept me wanting to read it.
...aaaand that‘s book two in the trilogy tucked away. The narrative will be recognisable in a general sense to anyone who, like me, arrived here via the TV series. It is however very different. Best lines were, naturally, delivered by Villanelle: “You‘re going to have such a pretty entry wound” and “Now, look dead”. She really is a little scamp!
This was tons of fun and featured much more of the cat and mouse dynamic that makes the show so compelling. The plot doesn‘t really match the events in the series so it sometimes feels like you‘re reading fan fiction. Having said that, I think the background presented in these books is really rich and vibrant.
Another fast paced espionage novel. After Eve/Villanelle's stories were so separate in the first book (and much less Eve) it was a little harder to buy the sudden obsession Villanelle had but it worked ok. I wondered how much of that had originally been planned and how much came from response to the show. Plenty of plot differences that do help the characters' actions make sense though! Definitely want to see where Jennings takes this story.
I would kill to have a screened in porch at home, but they are not very common in Dallas. Have to take advantage while I'm visiting my parents!
Wait, what? What was that? (checks to make sure there isn't an epilogue) Wow, really? That's really how you ended it Luke Jennings?!? [Insert Applause]
P. S. I need more! I need to know what happens next.
P. P. S. Now that I've finished the book, I can watch season 2 of the TV show.
We just finished this book in maybe a day and a half..it was so good! So much more Villanelle 🙌🏽 God I can‘t wait for book 3!!!
It was sunny and warm for a couple of days, but the weather turned last night and it's rainy and close to freezing again. All I want is to cozy up with my blanket and my spy drama.
Is anyone else watching this!?!? I am LOVING it. And it‘s based on a book series. Sandra Oh is just the best.
1. If that says “must reread” I have to reread the Kvothe books before the 3rd arrives ‘cause it‘s been soooooo long. If it says “most reread” then Ender‘s Game, easy.
2. Chocolate chip cookies, chewy, not crunchy (imagine I said that like James Bond)
3. RIPPER STREET! BROADCHURCH! And is anyone watching Killing Eve? Isn‘t it amazing? It‘s based on the tagged book.
