Lockdown: the crime thriller that predicted a world in quarantine | 
pickAbsolutely loved this book! Set during a bird flu pandemic, this book was deemed too unrealistic and wasnt published at the time. Now during the covid-19 pandemic it has been published and it shows how a lockdown should be. Not only that but the crime story included it really good. Highly recommend. If you think our lockdown sucks, read this book and you'll realise how much worse it could actually get!
Ok so I bought this book during the first lockdown way back in March and put off reading it till all this was over but I'm beginning to lose hope we'll ever be allowed back out so I may aswell just read it and see what else is in store.
Someone just sent me this which feels so appropriate as Toronto (where I live) heads into another lockdown tomorrow.
I cast my vote. I read some chapters. I saw a friend in line. My husband called me a socialist. It‘s all good.
My goal for #OutstandingOctober was to finish three of five physical library books.

Just two books completed but over 1000 pages read, and I‘m happy with that!
I think I‘m going to pause Lockdown for now and save it to finish next week when I‘m in line for early voting. (No electronic devices allowed.)

When one of your favourite author had written in 2005 a book about a pandemic and none had wanted to publish it then... You read it once it gets published in the middle of a pandemic!

Peter May is one of my favorite authors. He wrote this book in 2005 set in London, about a global pandemic. It was a city in total lockdown. A virus was claiming thousands of lives. The scenario described wasn‘t drawn from his imagination. It was based on detailed pandemic planning done by both the British and the Americans in the early 2000s. Nobody thought it would come true.
pickI read this back in June, it was quite gripping. Set in London and a lockdown much more stricted with martial law. A bag of bones is found of child and on his last day of work DI Jack MacNeil must find the killer.
Peter May wrote this about 15yrs ago but his publishers thought it sound unrealistic. Well now

pickWow.. What can I say? A great book to read during an actual virus pandemic.
It had me hooked from the start!
My heart breaks for MacNeil for many different reasons. I would definitely love to read a "Lockdown 2" to see how he copes with his life after he contracted the virus himself, and to see how the world reacts to how the virus was created!
This is definitely a book that grabs your attention with all the twists in the plot!

pickMay wrote this book 15 years ago. Publishers said no, this is too unrealistic. London is in lockdown, people are dying to the left and right due to this strange new flu. A murdered child is found. DI MacNeil‘s son has died due to the flu. It‘s his last day at the Met and he‘s decided to solve the case, no matter what. Not my fave May, but still a good read.
This is my current read, quite apt really in these times! #currentread
CREEPY! Written way before 2020.
1. I'm from San Juan, Puerto Rico, born & raised here 2. I really liked Three Souls by Janie Chang but I could say that I really enjoyed the majority of the books chosen during the quarantine lockdown period. 3. 300-400 I could say is comfortable but it depends on the book, if the book is interesting, the length is secondary.
