I put this one off for years, and ended up LOVING it 💕 Such a creative take on the afterlife
I enjoyed this book. I liked Liz, and I absolutely loved Betty. All of the dogs warmed my heart. The overall story was very fun and interesting. But there was something about the writing that made me feel frustrated. Idk what it was, but it just got under my skin.
I'm glad I read it. But don't plan to read anymore from her.

Sometimes I like to read books I remember loving as a kid/teenager and see if they still hold up. I‘m enjoying this one the second time around!
#two4tuesday
1. Finished the tagged book last week and loved it! Very original and hopeful.
2. Maybe not necessarily better, but I think they can be powerful.
If you want to play, consider yourself tagged! 🤗
Loved this! When 15-year-old Liz is hit by a car and dies, she goes to Elsewhere where she will age backwards until she can be reborn as a baby. She‘s not happy about being dead or aging backwards, as there was so much Liz wanted to do and experience on Earth. But she finds out you can still have a good “life” even if it‘s not what you thought it would be.
#bookspinbingo - center square, baby! 😉
#pop22 - book about the afterlife
Elsewhere was good but probably forgettable for me as an adult reader. I would have liked to see more world building of this interesting afterlife and a little more depth to some of the themes that get glossed over instead of so much of the main character‘s angst and misconceptions. It definitely had its sweet moments and was a very quick read but I think it skewed too far to the middle grade side of the YA spectrum and left me wanting. #bookspin
The life of a dead person. Loved this book. It was funny and well written.
This book is about a girl who died in a biking accident. It shows you her "life" as a dead person, aging back to zero to be reborn. It is a longish book, but seems really short. I loved it! It was a change from the normal murder mysteries that I usually read. It's more of a complicated love story.
This one was a a pan for me. 👎🏻 Some of the ideas were cool, but the writing was immature. The characters had no depth. They were basically all the same in different bodies. The dialogue was hokey, and the whole book just seemed incongruous. I would have bailed on it if it wasn‘t for a challenge. #AtoZLitsy (Letter E) #readingwithmaja #snowoncover #1WordTitle #ReadWithMrBook

A hopeful tale about all the possibilities living has to offer, the greatest of which is love.

After eating dinner listening to The World of Lore, I delved into my poetry read (Crush), my NF (Lady in Gold), my SS collection (My Mother She Killed Me...), my Buddy Read (I Am...), and catching up on Gideon Falls, I am FINALLY starting my first book for this readathon - Elsewhere ♥️
Happy Reading 📖🙂
This book makes me sob at the end. More as I grow older. I got this book at 17 and it was touching. Reread it as the years went on, and as life went on, it made more of an impact. The “Antique Lands” section made me just totally lose it this time. I guess because I‘ve lived more. And loved much more.
Starting this one tonight! Excited and a little nervous, Just reading the summary hurts my heart a little.
It has an interesting concept and a pretty fast read. I‘ve always wondered what really happens when you die. It‘s like you‘ve walked into a utopia. The romance kind of feels a little weird but other than that it was ok.
Starting this today and reading about the afterlife is interesting. In this world after you die, you go to Elsewhere and slowly age down until you are eventually reborn.
I am enjoying this Sunday on my deck. Finished 2 books this morning and plan to finish these 2 this afternoon. I have my vegetable starts ready for planting, but will likely wait until tomorrow to tackle the garden. Must read... 🍅🍓🌶🤷♀️📚📚📚📚
Day 3: Book Set Outside of Earth - So Elsewhere is an older YA book that has been on my #TBR list. #Elsewhere is the place you go when you die. While there, you age backward from the age of your death to your birth, when you are reincarnated back to Earth. Sounds weird & interesting, lol. 🌏 #septinbooks17 #bookstagram
This was such an interesting, bittersweet look at what could happen when we die. 15 year old Liz is killed in a hit-and-run accident and ends up in Elsewhere, where she ages backward until she is a baby again and sent back to Earth to live a new life. She meets many people (and dogs!!) along the way. Definite pick!

This book is kind of an alternate-reality version of what people think of #Heaven. #RockInMay
I have read this book a couple of times and will continue to read it throughout my life. No matter what religion you are this book has something for everyone and deals with loss in its own unique way.
I LOVE Elsewhere. I read this book a few years ago and I've reread it so many times. It's an easy read and such a rollercoaster. Love LOVE
HOLY STARS 🌟100/5🌟
I am so glad I put this at the top of my #TBR pile! I loved literally every sentence, page, and chapter of this book. Gabrielle Zevin, for someone claiming to not care about afterlife, sure does write one heck of a unique story about it! I especially love how humans can learn how to speak canine and communicate with dogs in Elsewhere. I also love the aging backwards aspect. Seriously, read this book. It's one to remember!

Kindle samples are everything! 😘
Welcome to Elsewhere. It is warm, with a breeze, and the beaches are marvelous. It's quiet and peaceful. You can't get sick or any older. Curious to see new paintings by Picasso? Swing by one of Elsewhere's museums. Need to talk to someone about your problems? Stop by Marilyn Monroe's psychiatric practice.
I need to read this. Where has this book been hiding my whole life?😱
