Temperance Brennan and I are really clicking this week! Work is stressful and horrible, but these books feel like settling in with some cozy (but still bloody and murder-y). On to the next one!
The 3rd Temperance Brennan book. This one involves an investigation regarding outlaw motorcycle gangs. Additionally, Tempe‘s nephew comes to stay in Montreal and is on a bit of independence streak.
Overall it was a light pick for me. Tempe is an intelligent woman who really makes some dumb decisions which almost made it a so-so.
Another books for #seriesread2021 and Book 1 for #14books14weeks2021
I really wanted to love the Temperance Brennan series because I loved Bones, but when I read the first one it was so vastly different that I struggled with it a lot. The second wasn't much better, but I persevered, thankfully, and I really enjoyed this one, book 3. I think I'm finally getting into the groove of the story and no longer expecting any similarities with the show. Definitely gonna keep going with it.
It‘s too hot for a real fire so I‘m pretending today. This also has the sound of beach waves ☺️
Her name was Emily Anne.
First line is a bit tame but rest of the paragraph was good.

Book 3 in the Tempe Brennan series, although I thought it started off slow, it turned out to be another fantastic read with a great ending.
#MountTBR (book 9) #Murder2020 (book 28)
Bikers, guns, and errant nephews abound! Temperance Brennan is thrust into the deep end of a drug war that crosses borders and kills children. She won't stop until she gets her answers. I felt the pacing was struggling a little in this offering from Ms. Reichs.
Some of the characters are still very one/two dimensional. This book kept me invested. I even had to remind myself of the value of sleep once or twice.
I refuse to answer on the grounds that some Twilight Zone alternate universe may hold me to it! 😱🙈🤣

3rd book in the Temperance Brennan series (abridged via my library Overdrive). I hoped listening would distract me from my sadness over Anthony Bourdain-but I admit to being a distracted listener. Tempe investigates the death of a child that ties into a motorcycle gang war while dealing with her visiting nephew, plus her love interest Det. Ryan gets arrested. Good enough book & I do think Tempe would be a good one to ask for help.
I think I‘ve had enough of death and murder lately...dropping this for now for a much lighter read. I‘ll be back someday.
That‘s the beguiling thing about Bacchus. He has no entrance fee. No minimum drink order.
