This was entertaining. I'm eventually continuing this series.

I am not really a cozy mystery reader, but this popped up recommended on Hoopla and looked cute. I also needed something light to break up all the dark books I‘m reading this month. This was solid! It has more depth and a bit of past trauma than is typical in cozies. I enjoyed our family of witches and some of the side characters. I don‘t know if I‘ll run out to read the sequel asap, but I may pick it at some point. 4⭐️⬇️

Finished last night & read for #CozyFantasyFellowship on Fable. This was a cute witchy cozy, first in the Evenfall Witches Bed & Breakfast series. The town is charming & the characters lovable. A good one to add to your #Scarathlon lists if you are looking for non-scary witchy books. I got the audiobook & the narration was good. I‘ll probably end up adding book 2 to my October audiobooks. 👻💚
Honorable mentions for #midyearfreakoutbooktag .
Top row of feel-good fantasy; second row of good action with spy mystery (Slow Horses) and clones in space (Mickey7) (turns out I like those?!) with good sequels, and then a few series I enjoyed (/am enjoying) as a whole: Thursday Murder Club, Paper Girls, Ascender, aaannnd ANY comic collection by Tom Gauld.
Cozy, funny, sweet, charming, a twisty mystery with just enough suspects to keep it interesting instead of dizzying, small town without being narrow-minded, some exasperating characters that added spice rather than made me irritated, magical without the dizzying world building that always turn me off epic fantasy.
Unexpected emotional depth to the story was a pleasant surprise. So happy this is a series and not a standalone.
Toad is now Precious! I can't stop smiling. 🐸
The honour of being toad-chosen! 🐸

I just started this Cute Cozy Autumn Ebook, recommended by a Booktuber ?
This was a bit dragged out, but overall enjoyable. I liked the characters and it was nice and light, despite some heavy topics. Interested to see where it goes!
