What a weird and interesting premise…not gonna lie, it‘s the cover and the R.L. Stine one-liner review that sold me on buying this book. There were a few moments towards the end where it felt a little…meh…several “huh” moments and a couple of loose ends, but overall it was a great read. My major take away was that island life may not be for me…well, supernatural-evil island life isn‘t for me. Take a walk on the wild side and pick this tale up!

Meh.

This was great. I thought this was gonna be about a cursed VHS tape, turns out none of that was true.Lol. I don‘t really want to ruin it for anyone but will just say a big part of this is grief horror and how grief can lead you to some really horrific places. The end has me in tears. The writing is quiet so when creepy things happen they really stand out. Glad I read this one. Pick! 👇🏼

I‘m halfway through this book and let‘s say the plot is the center of this maze. I feel like I‘ve been on the red path the whole time. Lol, I have to give it to this author for consistently and strongly writing around something so much and still having me want to finish cause I need to know.

I was curious about this. It gives me 80's and 90's vibe. I was born in 1991. I miss that time so much. It was a great time!

I saw someone mention this during #Summerween, so I ordered a physical copy, but have been listening to the audiobook today. It‘s sooooo good so far! It‘s like Groundhog‘s Day meets The Village with lots if 90s references thrown in.

On a remote island, a grieving mother vanishes, leaving her brother to search for her. Instead of a quaint little town, the residents are stuck in the 90's and conceal secrets as a malevolent force haunts and controls this mysterious location. Horror and spookinwss combine in this suspenseful read

This is a new unique thriller/horror. We follow a couple different viewpoints, Willow - a woman struggling with the loss of her son and in a different timeline her brother Harper. Various clues lead them both to a island full of mystery located in Door County, WI. This Book definitely builds the dread and I do like the mystery. The first half is a bit slow, and the two timelines and multiple POV‘s can get a little messy.⬇️

Dead Eleven was a complicated book, with alternating POVs and narrators to fit in; the book was hard to follow. As the final chapters started bringing things together, the ending seemed to fizzle out the build-up of the climactic finish. 3 ⭐️

I don‘t like when horror books take the easy way out and explain everything away and this book definitely does NOT do that. A book about grief, coping and scariness all wrapped up in a town that lives as though it is the 90s watching OJ Simpson‘s car chase every night. It was everything I hoped it would be.
