Millie is a housemaid who becomes entangled in the dark underbelly of the wealthy family she serves. When she meets Douglas Garrick her instincts tell her something is off- but it‘s not him whom she should be worried about. This story kept me entertained the entire time, I swept thru this quickly as I had to know how it ended!!
Another buddy read with @BookBabe2018 !!
This was good, but not as good as the first one.
I am really excited to read more in this series!

This wad my second book by Freida McFadden and the second in the series. I really like this one. It is an easy quick read with a twist you never see coming. I will continue to read her books and I highly recommend this one.
When I think of middle of the road mystery/thrillers Freida McFadden books come to mind. Why, then, can I not stop reading them?! Molly, the protagonist of the Housemaid stories, is somehow both resourceful and incredibly trusting and flighty (to her downfall). The twists are EPIC and really bonkers and while not very realistic they are oh so juicy and exciting! Just fun popcorn thrillers! Nothing revolutionary here but entertaining! 🌟🌟🌟
This book had me hooked the whole time!! 🤯 I truly did not see any of that coming! Gosh I truly love Freida McFadden 📚 This is the second book in the series.
I think this one may have been even better than the 1st one! I was really blown away by the big twist! I was surprised by the time jump between this 1 & the 1st 1 but it made sense in the end. I read this book in a day! I liked Millie‘s maturity & restraint in this one but she‘s still the Housemaid we know & love. I‘m eager to read the next one!
BABY CITY b Freida McFadden and Kelly Stoddard started reading 12/26/24 could not find onlist
This is a continuation a short story! Read in a short amount of time! 12/26/24
I liked this one even better than the first!
The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden. 8/10 rating
Freida McFadden totally won me over this year! I‘m currently hooked on the Housemaid series, and the second book, The Housemaid‘s Secret, is just as wild and unexpected as the first. I can‘t believe how she weaves these crazy twists and surprises into the story. She‘s a total writing wizard!

11-1-24: My 39th finished book of 2024! Book 2 in the series. The housemaid is Millie and she definitely has some secrets. Working for the Garricks is lucrative but something terrible is going on with the wife, Wendy, who hides behind closed doors whenever Millie is there to clean. As the story unfolds, we get some of Millie‘s back story, more than her boyfriend Brock is getting, but more importantly we learn how awful Mr. Garrick is, or is he?
Not too bad. Had some twists.
🥦🥦🥦🥦 Felt a little bad for Broccoli, uhm I mean Brock. 😄😄
The sequel to the Housemaid 😀 At first I was like this story sounds like the original but things definitely take a different turn. I can‘t say it was as good as the first one but it was still a page turner and quick read.
“I have made an incredibly bad judgment call. I have underestimated an extremely dangerous person. And now I will pay the ultimate price.”
Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It is simply a question of how far I'm willing to go...
I‘m finally getting around to reading this one. Every now and then I need a mindless, eye rolling, over the top thriller! This one fits the bill! Have you read this one Cinda @cinda.marie ?? ❤️💛❤️

Early morning soccer training for the 7th grader. A cooler, beautiful morning we are enjoying very much!
The first half was pretty MEH, but the second half redeemed itself. Not as good as the first book, but not terrible. (31)
⭐️: 3/5
I really enjoyed this, although I much preferred the first book in the series. It was great to see how Millie was doing after the events of life with the Winchesters. I did see the twist coming a mile off, though, but I think that's because I was looking for it. I'll 100% be reading the third book.
What distinguishes this novel from others is McFadden's ability to create tension and introduce characters with some depth, who are easy to understand. The riveting chapters will keep you engaged as you try and predict the ultimate outcome.......

Freida McFadden is the queen of plot twists. This is the second book in the series and I flew through it. When you think you know the twist that‘s coming… you‘re still surprised. Really enjoy her writing.
Millie‘s back and now working for the Garricks in their lavish penthouse…Douglas Garrick‘s wife is the unseen inhabitant in the locked room, into which Millie is forbidden to enter 😨Book 2 of the trilogy

Perfect sequel to The Housemaid ! I picked it up right after finishing the first and ordered the third book (released in June) immediately after finishing this one! I could see this as a tv show or movie.
3.5 out of 5 stars
Playing a little catch up!!! Typical Freida with twists right up until the very end. Super quick read with the same end result…just love her. Not as good as the first one but close.🖤
The second book in The Housemaid series and this one is just as good as the first, if not better. Millie is at it again. She can‘t stand to see women being abused by their husbands. This story has a bizarre twist and Millie could land herself in prison. Another great twist at the end. Love Freida McFadden! #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
“As he continues showing me their incredible penthouse apartment, I have a terrible feeling about the woman behind closed doors. But I can't risk losing this job – not if I want to keep my darkest secret safe . . .”
I read this one before reading the first one in the series. It‘s the second book and it is so good. I love it for it‘s plot twists. I love a good thriller with a plot twist. Not all characters were lovable, but that‘s okay. Made it more interesting. Couldn‘t put this one down. Excited to read the first and third books in the series. ❤️✨
Look team, is it more of the same? Absolutely. But if we‘re honest, the same is good, that‘s what we‘re all here for so no worries hey?
To me this one started out slow. I struggled to read the first 50 pages and thought about DNFing it. But, it picked up after then, and I flew through the book. The twists were great. That one twist, I can't tell you about bc I don't want to ruin the book, really got me.

This was such a great book. I gave it 5 stars on goodreads. Loved the first one and I loved this one and I am sure that i will love the third when It comes out in June. Had a twist at the end that I was not expecting. I was like OMG. Her books just do it for me.
This follow up book to “The Housemaid” exceeded expectations! After loving the first book, I can say I also completely devoured this read. Such a page-turner! 4.5 ⭐️
Liked this one as much as the first. I think Millie may be the QUEEN of domestic help!:)
I like this series so far. Another pick for Millie.
Running behind on my reading goal so I know once I start this one I‘m not going to want to put it down. Freida McFadden is amazing!! #38of2023
Round 2, let's go. Hope it's as good as the first. And if not, I hope those 14 people who have this on hold behind me at the library like it more.

I actually liked this one more than the first (The Housemaid). The beginning was also somewhat slow but it picks up sooner. The twists were interesting and unexpected, pretty hard to guess. Although, some might have opposing views, that is my take. Lastly, the book can stand on its own, but it is a continuation of the first story, and I would still recommend to read The Housemaid first.
Are we sure this is the actual second book to this series? Because I loved the first one, and this one was just bad. This was not the same Millie as the first book! The first book she was determined and strong! This book she was annoying and complained about everything! I saw the ending coming from the first 100 pages... it felt like bad acting, but in a book? Just cringey. 2/5
