Oooooweee I‘m in love with this series. I have a book to read for #TBRtarot, then headed right back into this world with the 3rd (and last 😢) book!

If it didn‘t feel like such an obvious and natural conclusion to this volume (despite the fact that I didn‘t guess the ending, even with all of my doubts & uncertainty in place), I‘d be really mad that this ends on a cliffhanger. I despise cliffhangers. But I love Juno Dawson‘s writing. She‘s smart, & soft, & tough in all the right ways. Her plots feel thoroughly storyboarded. I‘m eager to see where Book 3 takes us!

I finished this one last month for #EBBR & didn‘t review it & since I‘m starting Book 6 tonight, I figured I should this one posted. It‘s been so long since I read it that I don‘t remember all the cases but I know I missed a few. Also, I did not like the case where a neighbor shots a dog. It seemed a tad violent for the grade level of the books. Otherwise I don‘t remember much. 🤷🏻♀️

A June Roll100 pick that I just couldn‘t finish in time. I listened to the audiobook which I didn‘t realize until midway through was narrated by Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton) & she does a great job. What to say about this series: it‘s dark & no character seems safe which is a bit hard to take at times. Book 2 picks up right at the end of the first & there are some major plot twists but it takes patience to get there. ⬇️
A late post for my June #Roll100 picks. I haven‘t started any of these but I‘m looking forward to them.
#81 Any BOTM: Wild Dark Shore—also for #CampLitsy
#98 Any Series Book: The Shadow Cabinet #SeriesLove2025
#42 Any mystery: Laying Down the Latte—also for #FictionalTraveler
I want more of these. This author writes with Shakespeare rules so no telling what might happen to your favorite characters and I love that.

What an absolute blazer of a sequel! This book started out a bit slow, but consistently gained momentum until it was breakneck. An interesting twist to see the flip side of the characters from the first book (some more literally than others), and the good and bad within them fighting it out. Ciara is a sympathetic devil, probably more so than the angelic Niamh. The twist at the end is clear, but that won‘t stop me from reading the third book!
One is the author options for #queerbc August is Juno Dawson. If anyone is wanting to continue the series

Oh, I loved this book so much! Definitely read Her Majesty's Royal Coven first. I don't want to say a lot because it would spoil the first book. I love the characters so much. By the next book, they are going to be old friends.
The first book I thought of for #Shadow - the second book in Her Majesty‘s Royal Coven series

My FairyLoot copy of The Shadow Cabinet was delivered. I couldn't resist getting it to match the 1st book in the series. They are on my floating shelf.
This picks up right where we left our characters in Her Majesty‘s Royal Coven, and this didn‘t go where I thought it would. Not a moment to breathe, you just have to be there for the ride. I loved this one and I‘m already eagerly awaiting the 3rd book.
6th book for #RushAThon
Book 2 of the HMRC Trilogy is written for grownups. Ciara is back in Niamh‘s body, she hasn‘t left the demons behind, and is about to be sworn in as head of the Coven. The warlock Hale believes that will give him ultimate power, but as we all know, men are short sighted when it come to witches. Speaking of, witch hunters make a hateful appearance, there‘s a bumbling Prime Minister, Leonie is seeking truth, and Elle‘s son & husband, wow! Fun read.
That escalated quickly.
It was weird. And there were more deaths and explicit 🛌 scenes than I expected.
Did not see the twist at the end coming. And now I need to wait for the next book because of the cliffhanger ending.

Couldn't decide which book to start instead of finishing one of the many 'in progress' books, so Kid#2 picked this from the physical #MountTBR.
Note the fancy bookmark 🤪 (it's Waterstones' Dispatch Note)
Also, please admire the flooff who actually shoved the book away to get to her preferred sleeping spot. #CatsOfLitsy #GhostCat
Book 2 of the HMRC trilogy picks up where book 1 left off and leads forward to some dark, violent places. I don‘t want to say too much, as it would be easy to spoil the first book, but this was a good installment. I think I liked book 1 better and this did see my attention wane in places, but I continue to look forward to book 3.
The second book in the series, and it doesn't disappoint. It's full throttle into the story, continuing where it left off. It's gripping and funny. I love all the characters, and you are really rooting for them. The only downer is that the next book will probably be next year.
Bk3 of my #BookMail is the sequel to Her Majesty‘s Royal Coven. A matching signed edition to my copy, except the cover of that one is pink with yellow edges, they look really pretty together on the shelf. Continuing on from the first, a group of childhood friends & witches have to decide between what‘s right & what‘s easy to keep their coven & the world from tearing apart forever.
2nd book in Her Majesty's Royal Coven series. Too much description spoils the 1st book, so I will just say our witches are now dealing with the revelations from the battle at the end of that book. We get to be in the head of a new witch and it was really hard deciding how I feel about her. The story is gripping and I love how not black and white the characters are. Can't wait for book 3.
I should be asleep, but I remembered I hadn't made my #BookSpinBingo card yet for May. So I'm up and here she is.
Also I'm about 1/3 of the way through The Shadow Cabinet and highly enjoying it.
