The adult debut of #1 New York Times bestselling author Kerri Maniscalco, Throne of the Fallen is a seductive new standalone novel set within her fan-favorite Kingdom of the Wicked world, perfect for readers of fantasy, romance, and mystery alike. Sinner. Villain. Ruthless. These are wicked names the Prince of Envy welcomes. They remind him what he isn't: a saint. And when a cryptic note arrives, signaling the beginning of a deadly game, he knows he'll be called much worse before it ends. Riddles, hexed objects, anonymous players, nothing will stand in his way. With a powerful artifact and his own future at stake, Envy is determined to win, though none of his meticulous plans prepare him for her, the frustrating artist who ignites his sin--and passion--like no other... Talented. Darling. Liar. The trouble with scoundrels and blackguards is that they haven't a modicum of honor, a fact Miss Camilla Antonius learns after one desperate mistake allows notorious rake--and satire sheet legend--Lord Phillip Vexley to blackmail her. And now it seems Vexley isn't the only scoundrel interested in securing her unique talents as a painter. To avoid Vexley's clutches and a ruinous scandal, Camilla is forced to enter a devil's bargain with Waverly Green's newest arrival, enigmatic Lord Ashford 'Syn' Synton, little expecting his game will awaken her true nature . . . Together, Envy and Camilla must embark on a perilous journey through the Shifting Isles--from glittering demon courts to the sultry vampire realm, and encounters with exiled Fae--while trying to avoid the most dangerous trap of all: falling in love.

LOVED this! So spicy, so elaborate, loved the characters &their motivations. I don‘t know that the sun/magic mechanics always totally made sense but it‘s quite an entertaining idea.
Specific note on the audio: the production quality is wonderful &the dual narrators are perfectly chosen (I hate when they don‘t sound as expected or when the POVs do the other character voice & it‘s not even close) some other romantasy franchises could take note 😂

About 25% into this & 💜 it!!
The audio is really good too, 2 separate narrators, both are very animated & convey the characters well. Really digging the story so far.

OMG! I loved this book! It‘s like a dark fantasy romance, where you‘re rooting for villain of the story, but is he really a villain? I loved this world and the characters. I‘m so glad I read this.

Unbeknownst to me this is a spin off of her Kingdom of the Wicked series which I‘ve never read. It looks like it has characters from that world, but can be read as a standalone. It hinted at some stuff that happened, but explained enough to not be lost

5feet.of.fury Ooooh! My audio hold just came in from Libby, it‘ll be my next audiobook, so I‘m glad to see a good review! …I also have not read Kingdom of the Wicked & didn‘t know it was related- whoops! 6mo

This was a quick read with lots of spice! I like the world building and the seven brothers. I‘m thrilled they will each get a standalone book and can‘t wait for Prince Gluttony‘s story. I felt like Wrath‘s story should‘ve been adult and not YA, so I‘m glad these are adult books.

Sharing the first chapter line, not the prologue:

Miss Camilla Antonius had very little patience for fools, even handsome ones.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Oh my! 😅 this was quite the spicy fantasy 🌶🌶🌶🌶 Spice aside, I enjoyed the story. It was a very thrilling and action-packed plot. Very fantastical and adventure driven. I‘m happy it‘s a stand-alone in what will be a series of stand-alone‘s. While I enjoyed it for what it was, I am satisfied with its conclusion and don‘t feel I need more.

I loved this one! This #chunkster is this authors first foray into writing adult fantasy fiction. It's spicy and Envy...talk about yum! Loved the world building and storytelling. This has definitely made my keeper shelf. #bookspin #doublespin #LittensLoveRomance @thearomaofbooks

I have never read this author before and I believe she‘s writing 7 different books based on the 7 deadly sins as demons. This one was about Envy and was super spicy!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ There were demons, Fae, magic and a game where everyone is playing for what they want most. I don‘t think I‘ll read the other books even though I did enjoy this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was really hoping my library hold would've come in but sadly it did not so I guess I will finally pick this one up instead. Here's hoping I can finish it before Iron Flame gets here because otherwise it is getting sidelined lol

Another deadly sin novel from Maniscalco. I still prefer Wrath, but I also think Envy had a decent story. I hope she plans to write about each of the brothers.

I was out of town the last few days at a conference and now catching up with #bookmail. I got my #aardvark books, The Road of Bones - a book someone was raving about on TikTok, and the new Kerri Maniscalco.
