Mrs Funnybones
Mrs Funnybones: She's just like You and a lot like Me | Twinkle Khanna
46 posts | 23 read | 19 to read
Full of wit and delicious observations, Mrs Funnybones captures the life of the modern Indian woman a woman who organizes dinner each evening after having been at work all day, who runs her own life but has to listen to her mummyji, who worries about her weight and the state of the country. Based on Twinkle Khannas super-hit column, Mrs Funnybones marks the debut of one of our funniest, most original voices.

What would you describe as the Funniest book you‘ve ever read?

1. My favorite genre is historical fiction.

2. Favorite hobbies besides reading are baking and cooking.

3. I like to receive bookmarks and bookish notebooks.

Fun questions.

LoverofLit I love cooking though I've never gotten the handle on the more strict side of baking! So precise 😊 Thank you for participating. 7y

Enjoyed this masala humour more than I expected.

Poking fun at herself, sharing the funny side of motherhood and briefly sharing life lessons, along with the suicide rate in #India, TK is certainly a better writer than the actress ;p
Will definitely read her next #book

Tanisha_A I haven't read her book, but man she can be sassy! 😄 7y
BookishMe I vaguely remember her acting days and I know her mostly as Mrs AK. She's certainly is as hilariously daft as she claims to be. Glad to read this ebook ;D 7y
BiblioLitten I read that book in half a day. She is indeed Mrs Funnybones! She even makes fun of her acting career. 7y
BookishMe @BiblioLitten yes! Love the breezy chapters but I can only manage staggered doses of the masala humour 😅😅 7y

If you're travelling and want something to read, then this will serve as an entertaining book. It's funny in places, extremely light to read and very disarming. However, don't expect any profound revelations or any quotes that you may want to use in front of others. You'll be sorely disappointed.

Reading the book felt like the author gave me an all access pass into her journal/diary. Twinkle Khanna is witty, observant and highly insightful at places. More than an actress, or the wife or daughter of a star she seems like the quintessential urban, educated, intelligent women juggling her domestic and professional lives with dexterity. Her tone is satiric and that, I think, is super sexy and suave on a woman.
