Currently Reading: Feeling like I have been spinning my wheels lately; really would just like a day when I can read for the day instead doing life stuff.

Recently Finished: only finished the one book this past week. I really liked it and will post a review fairly soon.

BarbaraBB Starting The Dream Hotel now! 1w
TrishB @BarbaraBB it feels more and more real at the moment- the things going on in the book and real life! Can‘t wait to see your review. 1w

So it looks like I‘m on a crime run, brain too tired after work this week!
Model Home was just a so- so for me, I struggled with the style of writing maybe it was the tired brain!

BarbaraBB Two Matilda‘s! 2w
TrishB @BarbaraBB one finished on a massive cliff hanger and I couldn‘t move on without knowing what happened! Just finishing the next one and then I‘m done until the new one later in the year. 2w

Finished: really didn‘t like The Golden Spruce and how the author took way too long to set up the story, but I really liked the stuff about the person who allegedly chopped this specific tree down. Enjoyed High Society and The Sky is Falling much more; reviews are forthcoming.

Contd in the comments section

melissajayne Currently reading: I will have to restart Homecoming. Billy Boyle is a book that I am reading as an ebook and have had issues with my tablet. DQ is a readalong book with the From the Front Porch podcast; it‘s their Conquer a Classic pick for this year. Contd below 3w
melissajayne I‘m mainly reading Cerulean Sea but finding it a bit slower than other books that I have read recently; I‘m about a 1/3 into the book and I hope the book will pick up a bit more soon. ‘67 is a non-fiction read for my Silent Online bookclub that I found on Facebook; the theme for March is books with a sports theme. I just started reading it on Saturday and based on what I have read, it seems fascinating 3w
melissajayne I also am very aware of the 50+ year drought that the Maple Leafs have had with not winning the Stanley Cup and how much this particular team (and city for the most part) comes off with a holier than thou mentality (there is an attitude of how Canada revolves around TO, with it being a centre of finance and entertainment in Canada). 3w

Loved The Dark Mirror ❤️
The Other Tenant was an ok thriller.
Penitence was good- lots of unresolved questions at the end, so if you like all things tied up, probably not for you.
Currently reading the new Karen Rose.

Cathythoughts I have Penitence stacked. I don‘t mind things being left unsettled ( except in real life 😂) … I must try it soon. X 3w

I miss doing a #BookReport and miss @Cinfhen leading the way.

Colored Television was good on audio. I said “Oh, Jane!” numerous times. I‘m glad I stuck it out.

The Lost Passenger was enjoyable. Ultimately an immigrant story set in NYC. It has a lighter tone than most I‘ve read with this time and setting.

The Bell Jar was hard. After sitting on my shelf for years, I‘m grateful to finally have read it. #HashtagBrigade

I was planning on doing a combined book report/weekly forecast post, but there are too many books for a single coherent photo!

So this week‘s #BookReport: finished 4 books started earlier this month:
Sea of Tranquility 8/10
Book Lovers 7/10
Cley 6/10
Small World 7.5/10

And read a further 73 pages of the #Chunkster The Bonfire of the Vanities

Last week, I finished Weyward, and read:
- 144 pages of Sea of Tranquility;
- 75 pages of Cley
- 108 pages of Small Worlds
- 212 pages of Book Lovers
- 92 pages of The Bonfire of the Vanities.

This week, I will probably finish Sea of Tranquility and Book Lovers, and aim for at least:
- 21 pages of Bonfire;
- 38 pages of Cley
- 56 pages of Small Worlds

And maybe start a new book.

squirrelbrain I‘m thinking I might read Redemption this weekend…. 🤔 7mo
TrishB @squirrelbrain if you want something that doesn‘t take a lot of thinking, is constant action and entertaining- then go for it! 7mo
Aims42 Kate Atkinson‘s newest sounds really good! I love her non-Brodie books, could I read this one without having read the previous books in the series? 7mo

TrishB @Aims42 you probably could- but Jackson is a fabulous character and has a full back story that you would miss out on. If you like Atkinson‘s writing I think you would love these, from the beginning 😁 7mo
Ruthiella @Aim42 I would also encourage you to start the Brodie books from the start for the development of Brodie‘s backstory. If you like Atkinson‘s other work, you will probably also appreciate them. 👍 7mo

#currentlyreading: All the Light is for a book club meeting; the Alice Munro is a #slowbutsteady (didn't read from it this week); The Music of Bees is for a previous book club meeting and it shouldn't take a lot of time to complete it.

melissajayne #upcomingreads: The Maid is for another book club meeting this week, but since I own my copy and have read it before, I don't foresee it taking me too long to read. The Essex Serpent is a restart for me and I hope to get to it this week. Midnight Library is for a book club meeting later in the month and I don't think it will take me long to read it, as I have quite a bit of time to read it and this will be the fourth time I have read it. 10mo
