#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView

1. Jaws
2. On Saturdays my sister and I would spend a large part of our day either playing barbies or using the tape recorder for singing/interviews! and
hide and seek in the dark - all the kids on the street would get together and play this in the summer
3. tagged - doesn't involve a game but title is a game

Make a great day everyone 🙂

bthegood @Eggs in my neighborhood a few younger families have moved in and their children play outside a lot - I love seeing and hearing that! 4mo

Eggs @bthegood great memories of playing at twilight on our block 5-7 kids on summer nights! During daytime, about 8-10 girls - we would bring our Barbies/Kens and play on the grass in back yard 💖 4mo

Mehso-so

I wasn‘t the hugest fan of knots and crosses but I found it gripping and this whole series has the audiobooks available through my library so I imagine I‘ll end up reading more of them. I find Rebus a bit more on the annoying side of gritty than the cool side and the homophobia, while period accurate for the 80s I guess, isn‘t my fave. #scarathlon #skeletoncrew

In trying to determine why a young drug addict died, Inspector John Rebus continues to look for clues in the case, because he knows there has to be more to it than a drug overdose.

ljuliel It‘d be neat to live someplace where you could take the train to places. Our town used to have passenger trains that stopped here. That was back in the early 60s. Our school field trip in first grade was a ride on the train 🚂. 5y
alisiakae Have fun!! 5y
Scochrane26 I wish my area had a train for public transportation. 5y
jb72 That‘s nice to take the train. I‘ve never lived in an area like that. Here they don‘t even have a bus because it‘s so rural. 5y

#lunchtime just felt like a detective read!

Andrew65 What better than Ian Rankin, love his literacy style. 5y
TrishB @Andrew65 read the first only last year and then got a lot of the series for 99p on kindle and have just felt like reading! I‘ve know I‘ve got some good books ahead! 5y
Andrew65 @TrishB It‘s like putting on a cosy blanket when I read these. The next book in the series is one of my favourites. Great ending scene and Rebus in London is hilarious! (edited) 5y
TrishB @Andrew65 I love how you remember books in series 😁 I‘ll look forward to it! 5y

This is the 2nd Inspector Rebus novel. I did not like it as much as the 1st, but it was still a good book. It is not necessary to have read the 1st to read the 2nd. This one was far less thrillerish and maybe that‘s why I found it slow in parts. It was a pretty good police procedural with a pretty good mystery and it did show the tedium of police work. Flawed characters abound. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

2nd in the Rebus series and although not totally fully-formed Rebus is taking shape nicely. The apparently accidental death of a junkie puts Rebus on a trail which leads to the highest echelons of Edinburgh society. Cracking read.

I had hoped for a page turner and a page turner it was. A young man is found dead in an empty house, used by junkies as a temporary shelter. Obviously an overdosis, but Rebus feels there is more to it. He starts digging on his own and discovers so many threads he no longer knows what is important and what not.

Again his personal life and character play a role in the story, which I like a lot.

Saw this man speak tonight. It's always a pleasure. So witty and clever and for a moment makes you think you could also write a book. Waiting for my next book to arrive so I can crack on reading the series.
