Fell to sleep while reading this, and awoke with the song, Bring Me To Life by Evanescence blasting (not literally). I guess my subconscious has found a song match for this book 😂, and here my waking self has been considering something more classical 🤔. Been ages since listening to this...

I guess “ghost“ wins even over Batman. This book has held my interest over all other current reads...bewitching (so far)!

@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks (thanks for the tag, too! 😘)

Enjoying rereading some Poe and am still listening to TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION by the Alan Parson's Project. Here's another fave:

Bookwomble Lou Reed's album The Raven might pique your interest: it was the music for his stage play POEtry, which also has the tagged accompanying book. 🙂 8mo
Amiable I just finished a book and haven't decided what to read next! We're leaving tomorrow for a trip so I'm mulling whether to just go with the e-reader or also pack a lightweight paperback. 8mo

Aimeesue This may freak people out a little, but I don‘t really listen to music. 😂 8mo
AnnCrystal Thanks for tagging me 😉👍. 8mo
Liz_M @Amiable Always pack one paper book in case the ereader crashes and can't be easily rebooted (I had this happen in an airport once) 8mo
dabbe @Aimeesue I really don't either anymore. I prefer rain or blizzard sounds. Anything soothing that helps me relax and focus while I'm reading. But ... every once in a while, I rock out. 🤩 8mo

Thank you for tagging me @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks & @dabbe.

Any time-slip love story.

I Knew I Loved You, by Savage Garden (Love their music).

While not a perfect match, I don't know why nearly every time I encounter a time-slip love story, this song automatically plays once. As if like magic. Turn on the radio, there are those lyrics. Walk into a grocery store, this song greets me, etc.

I've come to link the song with time-slip love stories.

AnnCrystal Coincidence, I know, yet I prefer a magical explanation 😂😉☺️🎶💝. (edited) 8mo

I‘m reading the second short story The Sign Of Four in the Sherlock Holmes short story collection for the #noplacelikeholmes readalong. I can‘t think of a song for this book. This story is an English murder mystery with Holmes & Watson.

Frank Sinatra, “It Was a Very Good Year“ :)

Just the first couple chapters in, but the main character is very nostalgic.

To go along with BABEL (the tagged book), how about “Land of Confusion“ by Genesis? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq7FKO5DlV0

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks How is this one? I stacked it! 9mo
dabbe @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I am digging it! It reads like history, but it has magic. In a way it reminds me of A NIGHT CIRCUS. And I loved her book YELLOWFACE, so I had to read this one, too. It's long, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. 🤩 9mo
Crazeedi Thanks for the tag! Not sure I can think of a song for the book I'm reading 9mo

I just keep hearing Who Can It Be Now by Men at Work while reading the part I‘m at in the tagged book.

“Who can it be knocking at my door?
Go 'way, don't come 'round here no more”

This is easy, because every time I dance to “Titanium“ I think of Murderbot, and it's especially relevant to this book, in which it is suffering from PTSD. The lyrics of the song are very empowered, but the music reveals the underlying vulnerability that the words are trying to hide.
