Never Fade | Alexandra Bracken

This is an awesome second book.
In YA, I often run into what I like to call middle book syndrome – where the second installment seems to lack enough content for a full story, but without that content, the final third book just wouldn't make sense.

Alexandra really nailed it with this one.
It is action packed, power driven, tense and dark featuring a high-stakes rebellion and political oppression.

Enchanted_Bibliophile I enjoyed the brisk pacing with just enough inner turmoil to keep me hooked.

I can't believe I never finished the series, especially with that cliffhanger ending.

BarbaraBB I‘ve never read her. I must change that. Five stars from you! 7mo
jenniferw88 @BarbaraBB she is an autobuy author for me, so I'm not really surprised it was 5 ⭐️! She has two series - if you like fantasy, this one in her new series is the book to try, but if you prefer (historical) mysteries, then you might enjoy the one in this comment better. 7mo
BarbaraBB Thank you! The quote you whatsapped me really made me lol 7mo
jenniferw88 @BarbaraBB there's a lot of amusing quotes in both series, so you should (🤞) like her books. 7mo

I really enjoyed this book. At times it could be a little too ya. The magic system was cool. Each witch has a designated season which they are strongest in controlling except Clara, she is an Everwitch & has power through all four seasons but she can't control it. I'm really looking forward to the #SundayBuddyRead discussion @TheBookHippie

4.5⭐️ I first read the book about 30 years ago, when I was about 11. I remember it had a red cover (think I still have it somewhere), but it also opened my eyes to the huge resistance movement that took place in Europe during #wwii. And spurred me into a love of WWII historical fiction. #2021 #fiction #historicalfiction #bookreview #bookstagram #litsyatoz2021 #n #readingeurope2021 #denmark🇩🇰 #middlegrade #bookspinbingo #newberyaward
