This story would be a great introduction to Langston Hughes and poem writing in the classroom
so-soThere Was a Party for Langston written by Jason Reynolds, 2023 was a fantastic book that had such a beautiful rhythm and tempo when read aloud by the author. The characters that were brought in were influential and had great meaning behind there implementations. The characters had beautiful background and meaning in literature and poem writing.
Children can gain a lot from this book on many levels. It is a great book for literature and history, and there are some alphabet mentions as well.
pickA book that pays homage to Langston Hughes, a poet from the Harlem Renaissance, and his influences. This book addresses Langston Hughes early life and impact, using some of his own quotes! Near the end, the book mentions Maya Angelou and Amiri Baraka and their works.
