First in a mystery series, this is a light, entertaining re-imagining of Jane Austen's characters all together in a modern setting: Greek Row in a conservative Southern University. I liked that Gilliland is creating new plots rather than simply retelling Austen's, but be aware that includes characters being murder victims--and murderers. I don't think she's likely to disrupt any sacred pairings though.

pickI love this series so much. A new case to find 3 missing people takes Evander away from his new home at the Ruby to LA where he has to confront certain aspects of his past (including his mother). At first I wasn‘t as drawn into the case, but the I new faces grew on me & I was pleased with how it wrapped up. Vikas Adam‘s narration is perfect as always.
pickHoly Hell! I picked this book up from the library thinking it was your typical Cozy Mystery, and man, was I wrong! Completely unsettling in such a creepy, good way. I will definitely be checking out anything else Slater has written! #JustOneMoreChapter
