Since I‘m 16 pages away from finishing a second reading of the book, I may have to listen to this to finish off Banned Books Week. It‘s only 4 hours long, so it‘s take me 2 to get through it.

GingerAntics @Riveted_Reader_Melissa oh there is no way this book is happening this week. I just finished Dodger and all of a sudden another Neil Gaiman plopped in my lap. I fear once we get into November we‘re going to be into holidays. I‘m thinking January-ish. lol That way we also have some more time, we could get more people on board and have a nice little group. We‘ll have to look at it and figure out how we want to divide it up, too. 6y

One of my favourite #bannedbooks of all time. Robert Heinlein is one of the great grandaddies of #scifi and this novel, in my eyes is his magnum opus. A massive novel about a Martian born and raised human brought back to Earth who learns to live, love and #grok in fullness that nature of human beings. 🚀 👽. #readabannedbook #bannedbookweek

Jabberwocky Side note to anyone considering picking this up- Heinlein was writing in the late 50's and as such most of his work is rife with sexism. I take it as a hallmark of the times, but it's worth being aware of. (edited) 7y

[DELETED] 3803335244 I will never understand why any books are banned, well besides pornography. I found out Winnie the Pooh was banned in some American States, because talking animals were an insult to God. Lol 😂 Winnie the Pooh! Has to make you stop & think! Oh wait that's why they ban some books, they want you not to think. 🤣😂 8y

Jess7 @CindyMyLifeIsLit I love it too! It is such a short, but important read! For anyone on the fence who didn't enjoy Orwell's other book #1984, don't let that deter you! To me, #AnimalFarm was a much easier (and shorter) read. Honestly, it didn't even feel like I was reading the same author. britt_brooke @Jess7 I first read Animal Farm in 7th grade for school (too young) and hated it. I reread it at about age 30 and absolutely loved it. 8y
