This was delightful! What I really appreciated about this story was how well Lily handles both adversity and hunting down clues. Additionally, she has wonderful “partners in crime,“ so to speak, that she can rely on. I always adore team work when hunting down a villain and Lily has the best team. Also, after reading this story, I can say that I did not like Lily's father at all. I sincerely hope he does not surface again in this series, ha ha ha.

Book #2 in Lily Adler mystery series, set in Regency London. Good series, looking forward to #3 coming out this year.

I really liked this second book in the series. I didn‘t really remember a lot of details from the first book, so took me a minute to remember who everyone was.

Yes, this was a good historical mystery. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with the Doctor Who episode. 😝

Traci1 Haha! Doctor Who was the first thing I thought of from the title. 2y
TheSpineView Great job! 2y
Chrissyreadit This sounds so good! I love Dr. who, but that episode made me so sad! So I‘m glad it‘s not related. 2y

Enjoyed this one more than book 1, but I was able to easily guess the who and why quite quickly.

This is the 2nd in the Lily Adler historical mystery series, and I‘m happy to have another good female sleuth to keep up with. Lily and her intrepid friends help solve the murder of two in one household, one an old friend of her father‘s, the other a maid. While I had guessed most of it, there were still a few twists. Lily, as a young widow, is a strong, likable lead that I look forward to reading more about. 4.25/5⭐️

Bookzombie I may have asked this already but have you tried this series? This is 0.5, but I have read books 1 and 2 also and enjoyed them. 3y
robinb @BookishMarginalia Yay, I hope you‘ll enjoy! 😊 3y
robinb @Bookzombie I am embarrassed to admit this, but I actually own a few in that series and have yet to read one! 😱😱😱🙄😂 I think I bought them (as they were on Kindle sale) simply because I love Ashley Gardner‘s Captain Lacey series. Thanks for the mention though, I really need to get to them. 🥰 (edited) 3y

To those of you who have children, have any of your kiddos read this book?? My niece is 6 but is reading at a much higher level... she is starting to dabble in chapter books.... I loved Nancy Drew as a kid and would love to pass that love down to her...

Mandigolightly That one is typically marketed to like 10, 11 year olds, but there is a Nancy Drew series for the 6-8 year olds. The first one in that series is 5y
Kshakal @Mandigolightly thanks!! This is very helpful!! 5y
