As a spooky connoisseur, this quiz humbled me lol. 6?! If it was spooky books owned and unread or have been on your TBR for years I‘d have a top score.😄 So I‘ll be the person to list 3 I think were missed.

•Justice for The Push! Lol it‘s a perfect creepy bad seed concept
•The Weight of Blood is a great Carrie retelling
•NOS4A2 - Christmas themed but absolutely belongs
•Honorable mention: The Grip of It is CREEPY!

#threelistthursday #tlt link ⬇️

dabbe Ooh, thanks for listing some new ones! One can never have enough spooky reads on their TBR to get to ... someday! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛

Reggie I loved The Weight of Blood. I only got 12 on the list and I tell people horror@is my main genre. Lolol omg. 3d
KT1432 Agreed @dabbe! And this was fun even though I am a bit ashamed lol! 3d
KT1432 So @Reggie you feel my pain lol 🤣🤣 3d

Tried to post this last night but I couldn‘t get on Litsy for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks @dabbe for the tag! I‘m not much of a horror reader so I‘m not surprised at my score. 😂
3 faves: Frankenstein (always!), Gone Girl, Rebecca

I‘m surprised I got SEVEN on this list, as someone who‘s really not into scary/creepy/horror! The three on the left are favorites from this list (although I was surprised to see Name of the Rose on there!). The three on the right I‘ve read the book and watched one or more movie adaptations. With Dracula and The Dead Zone, I enjoyed the book more, but Hitchcock‘s Rebecca tops both the book & the recent movie version for me!

lil1inblue That's a good list! 🌟 4d
dabbe Fab list! Have you seen the 1940s REBECCA? It's an all-time fave of mine. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
BarbaraJean @dabbe Yes!!! It was the first Hitchcock film I ever saw. I watched it years before reading the book—and I still think it's better than the book 🫣🤫🤭 3d
dabbe @BarbaraJean I think you're right! 💛🩷🧡 3d

Yay! I made top 2%!! But horror is my jam, which is why I couldn‘t pick just three books. 😁 Sorry, @dabbe ! Just FYI—A Short Stay in Hell is not traditional horror. It is a very unique story that will burrow in your head and stay there. One truly horrifying aspect of the story are the numbers (I hated math!) as you try to comprehend the staggering calculations of infinity. 👻👹🧛🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️💀 #TLT #ThreeListThursday

dabbe W😱W! You practically own this genre! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d

#threelistthursday #tlt @dabbe

Even though I love spooky reads, I'm not surprised by this score, though it's cool that it turned out to be the number 13. Some of these books look a little out of my horror-reading range just based on their covers alone! Favorites include ...
√THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE by Shirley Jackson
√THE ANNOTATED POE (stories by EA Poe)
√THE ELEMENTALS by Michael McDowell (he wrote the screenplay for BEETLEJUICE!)

I knew going into this #threelistthursday that I was going to have a low score. I'm super picky about spooky reads. But I didn't think it would be this low. 🤣🫠

Here's probably my top three from the list. All three are superbly written:
👻 Our Shade of Night by Mariana Enriquez
🕷 Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
🎃 Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier

I also enjoy the Brontës around this time.

#tlt @dabbe

dabbe I love spooky reads, but I think I'm going to score low, too! 15 seems to be the highest so far! 🤩 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
Bookish_Thoughts I got 7%. 😱🤣 4d
lil1inblue @Bookish_Thoughts It looks like this was a low score list for a lot of us! I think the highest I've seen is 20% 😂 4d

Not really my area, obviously, though pretty much all of my reads I liked.

Favorites not on the list: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier, Defekt by Nino Cipri, The Hollow by Agatha Christie, Miss Pym Disposes by Josephine Tey.

PuddleJumper I've read 5 🤣 I don't read much horror or thriller books 4d
dabbe I've added your faves not on the list to my TBR list! 🤩 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
lil1inblue I forgot Shirley Jackson on my favorites list. 😱 4d

AnnCrystal 🥳 Thanks for the tag 📚👻💝. 4d
Amiable Only 16 for me —and most of those are Stephen King that I read in my ‘20s. I‘m not much of fan of scary books or movies. 4d

dabbe @Amiable I love mysteries and detective fiction, and even the occasional horror, but some of these look 😱! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d

Bookish_Thoughts 7%. 😱🤣 What should have been there? The Indian Lake Trilogy, The Only Good Indian, The Buffalo Hunter Hunter-all by Stephen Graham Jones. Thanks for the tag! (edited) 4d
PurpleyPumpkin What an interesting list! I only got 10 but that‘s actually higher than I thought I‘d get. 😅 I‘m more of a cozy mystery fan, although some of these books piqued my interest! Thanks for the tag, that was fun!😊 4d
Cuilin I‘ve only read 5!!! Not my genre. My mystery interest slants more cozy. 4d
rwmg I only got 9. I read some Stephen King in the 1970s and 1980s but I forget the titles now apart from Carrie, which is the first one I read., so I might be able to add one or two. 4d
thebacklistbook I've read 5, three of which are: The Summoning, If We Were Villains, and Frankenstein 4d
LiseWorks I only got 9, I don't read them as much as I watched the movies lol all Steven King were movies, not the books. I don't really like his books. Way too long. 4d
AnnCrystal 🤔...I'd have a higher score if this was about books on my TBR lists 😅...😉👍🏼📚💝📚. 4d
AnnCrystal @Bookish_Thoughts I so badly wanted to read the The Buffalo Hunter Hunter, but I am a coward about too many gory scenes...I can sometimes jump over some scenes, but I read that this was horrific. Is this truly gory?? 4d
Bklover I got 30. A couple more I bailed on. I love this stuff- started reading Stephen King way back in 1978 and just never stopped. I do have an advantage of being older than dirt. 🫤😧 4d
Susanita I got 10…which is higher than I expected! 4d
dabbe @Bookish_Thoughts An interesting trilogy to take a look at! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @PurpleyPumpkin I'm with you! I prefer comfy detective stories the most,, and some of these looked really 😱! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @Cuilin Same here, m'dear! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @rwmg Not much of my genre either ... only at this time of year! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @thebacklistbook I hope you enjoyed those. I adore FRANKENSTEIN. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @LiseWorks He can really get into the details, can't he? Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @AnnCrystal Ditto, m'dear! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @Bklover Right there with ya! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
dabbe @Susanita #yahooyou! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 4d
Sparklemn 12 for me. Favorite is Mexican Gothic. Hated Gone Girl. 😖 4d
Dilara Thank you for tagging me. I did worse than most and got 5% because I haven't read any of the non-classics. I would have got more if The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Turn of the Screw, The Canterville Ghost had been included 😁
Some of the titles are in my wishlist: The Historian, Mexican Gothic, and Our Share of Night
I can recommend Beyond Black by Hilary Mantel & The Ghost Rider by Ismail Kadaré
4d
eeclayton Thanks for the tag! 8 points. Scary books are not my cup of tea, even though I love some of the classics, such as Dracula. I also love the Highsmith books on the list, but I don't associate them with Halloween. 4d
Librarybelle I got 10…there are many on my tbr. Loved Mexican Gothic, Gone Girl, and Rebecca, not to mention Frankenstein and Dracula. 4d
Bookwormjillk 16 for me. A lot of these are new to me but I have read all of the Stephen King and Patricia Highsmith. 4d
KT1432 I got 6. I am ashamed. I must make my own post about this lol!! 4d
MaGoose I'm not much of a reader in the horror genre, so only 2 for me. But there are 2 or 3 on the list that I want to read. 4d
ElizaMarie I only did 23% I am super shocked. I mean. I like horror type books. But I think I might gravitate more to thrillers, so maybe that's why my score is so low. But --- you did post a bunch that I am interested in reading, so thanks for that! 4d
melissajayne I got 8 4d
dabbe @Sparklemn Ooh, taking GG off the TBR. Thanks! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @Dilara Great recs! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @eeclayton I think some people chose based on reading a scary book at this time of year per se. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @Librarybelle Fab choices. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @Bookwormjillk Most were new to me, too! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @KT1432 No being ashamed! This is all in good fun, right? Right? 😂 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @MaGoose I found quite a few that I'd like to read, too! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @ElizaMarie I think this list came from all areas: from mystery all the way to horror ... hence the “okay“ scores since most of us gravitate towards once specific area in this genre perhaps. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
dabbe @melissajayne Not bad! Most of us are around 7-15. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 3d
kspenmoll I only read 9. 3d
dabbe @kspenmoll You and I were quite close in our scores. Most of these I haven't even heard of! Thanks for playing and sharing. 💛💜🧡 3d
CogsOfEncouragement I‘ve read 8. I recommend The Talented Mr. Ripley series, Strangers On A Train, and Rebecca. 2d
dabbe @CogsOfEncouragement Fab choices! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 2d
nanuska_153 I read a generous 5, you can tell it's not my genre cause some of the ones I marked as "read" I actually bailed on ? so much for being an eclectic reader. Love Rebecca though ❤️ 1d
dabbe @nanuska_153 #ditto 💛💜🧡 1d
DrSabrinaMoldenReads Yep! Only 3! You can tell these are not my kinda books. Two of the ones I read I did not like especially “Gone Girl”. Thanks for sharing ! 1d
dabbe @DrSabrinaMoldenReads A few people said that about GONE GIRL; I was happy to take it off the TBR. Thanks for playing and sharing. 💛💜🧡 1d
