This month‘s #bookclub pick was undoubtedly the one the least amount of people finished (2/3s did not), but I am not sure why. I thought it was a quick read. Sold into slavery at six years old, Little Flower‘s life certainly goes from one tragedy to the next for most of the book. Linjing, her owner, does grow as a character but not before the reader wants her to receive some of the suffering her jealousy causes. Well-researched & fast paced!

If you enjoy this author, definitely read this. If not maybe assume it's like her other books and read something else. Her writing is beautiful. I read this for our April IRL #bookclub.

#bookreport

Currently Reading: Have been mainly reading Homecoming for an upcoming #bookclub meeting; been picking away at ‘67 and started Good Dirt; DQ & Billy are on the back burner for a bit

Recently finished: Really enjoyed all three of these books; all very good books and I enjoyed reading them all.

3.75 ⭐️ I really liked the book; story flowed well and the story was interesting. It also kept me interested in the story and the outcome. #2025 #bookclub #fiction #mystery #thriller #suspense #canadian

2.5⭐️ The main reason for the rating is that the author spent way too much time discussing the sea otter and lumber trade and wish he had spent more time on Hadwin‘s story. #2025 #nonfiction #bookclub #britishcolumbia

My #weekendreads; I am taking a break from Homecoming for a few days because I have to get The House in the Cerulean Sea completed and reviewed by Wednesday afternoon for my Wednesday evening library #bookclub meeting.
