#bookseveryonebutyouhasread I feel like these are books I should have read by now. They have been sitting on the bookshelf for years and I just never got around to reading them. I'm thinking of fitting them in later this year. #readjanuary @RealLifeReading

elkeOriginal I recently saw a graphic novel version of this that I may try! 7y
bookwrm526 These were some of the books that turned me into a reader 7y
thec0zy @bookworm526 they turned me into a reader too! 7y
monkeygirlsmama I read this for the first time with my daughter back when it was assigned to her in 5th grade. I've only read the first one, but was surprised that we actually liked it. 7y
lute My sixth grade teacher read this to us. I never appreciated the guy when he was my teacher but as an adult I realize how wonderful he was. 7y

When I was picking for #girlinthetitle I realized it also fit #bookseveryonebutyouhasread A little behind on this one, but better late than never?!?! #readjanuary

AlaMich IMHO, it was meh. I finished it but had no desire to go on to the second. 7y
GypsyKat I haven't read this one either. It just doesn't appeal to me. 😐 7y

The first four that came to mind. They're on my TBR but keep getting pushed back! Or I guess "buried under the pile" is a better way of putting it. ????

readinginthedark It took the audio for me to finish Water for Elephants, but I really liked it with the narration! 7y
APLitlife I have read WFE several times. Love it! 7y
angrylilasian @readinginthedark I'll try the audio then. 😄 7y
angrylilasian @APLitlife I keep hearing how great it is! I really want to read it. 😆 7y

Work has been crazy the last few days and I've missed the last few #readjanuary prompts so I'm going to combine #bookseveryonebutyouhasread (or at least seen the tv show) and #DNF. I started this book and just wasn't feeling it at the time. I had meant to pick it back up and then it turned into a series filled with a bunch of looong books and it has intimated me ever since!!

Bookzombie I only read the first one. It ended up being a pick for me but I remember telling my husband several times I wasn't sure I liked it while I read it. I will probably get to more of the series but their length is kind of a deterrent. 7y
booksandsympathy I only read the first four books. I stopped after that, as it does have an ending that would've made a good ending to the series. 7y
Ubookquitous I DNFed it... To overwrought, filled with the worst romantic tropes... 7y

Susanita I liked it, but I bailed on the next one and on the series. I'm no prude, but it seemed to be turning into 50 shades of plaid. 7y
AlaMich I started the first book, couldn't get into it, but loved the first season of the series! 7y
EllieDottie @bookzombie yay I totally agree about the length I sometimes like a good long book, but a good long series is even more intimating! 7y
EllieDottie @booksandsympathy good to know that if I start again I can look forward a satisfying ending at book four! 7y
EllieDottie @Archetype67 I only made it about 200 pages so I long came across one, but just over all it was definitely clashing with my mood!! 7y
EllieDottie @Susanita haha!! the 50 shades of gray plaid has to be the best description ever!! 7y
EllieDottie @AlaMich maybe I can just skip to the tv series...... 7y

#bookseveryonebutyouhasread I really feel guilty about Jane Austen 🙃I was an English creative writing major and my strict nun teachers required us to read like 300 pages between a Monday and Wednesday class, and I had 4 other classes! I rebelled, big time! I think I've read 10 pages tops. I own all these books and really do intend to pick them up- one day 😉😁😇

Reviewsbylola S&S is the only Austen I didn't love. Hunger Games is so good!! 7y
Reviewsbylola I loved Gone Girl too. Girl on the Train was just ok. I don't think I've ever read The Secret Garden. 😬 (edited) 7y
Mimi28 @Reviewsbylola I started the hunger games and got like 50 pages into it, and somehow lost interest. I have the whole series though. The same thing happened with Twilight, and The Mortal Instruments. I think I got 100 pages into that one. My concentration sucks. I've been reading mostly graphic novels lately 7y
Reviewsbylola I couldn't do Twilight. In fact, Hunger Games isn't my typical fare but it's just so well done. 7y
Mimi28 @Reviewsbylola I'll try to get back into Hunger Games, and move Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train up closer in my TBR. Thanks! ❤ 7y

I'm doubling up for #BooksEveryoneButYouHasRead and #DNF. I've been assigned to read Frankenstein for so many classes, but I just never seem to get around to finishing it. Maybe someday. #ReadJanuary

Alfoster I agree it's hard to get into! When I had to teach it for AP English, I forced myself to read it. Partway in you may get hooked, but you just have to keep at it! (If you want to that is)!😳 7y
Joybishoptx I saw the National Theater live version with Benedict Cumberbatch and it was amazing. Read it in college and liked it. Tried to teach it and almost lost my mind. 7y

I loved yesterday's posts of #bookseveryonebutyouhasread, so here's my contribution. I reread the description of these books numerous times after seeing so many people raving about them and they just don't appeal. So, not gonna do it. #readjanuary

TrishB This was mine too 👍😄 7y
AThousandLives87 I feel the same way! 7y
BookHermit I felt the same way when I read the descriptions. And the covers are so completely mismatched with the stories. But my very own "brilliant friend" loved them and so I dove in. Turned out the series was very, very different from my expectations and I loved it. Not to everyone's taste, to be sure, but the book's "externals" are very misleading. 7y

Soubhiville Hah, the covers alone were enough to make me turn away. 7y
Reagan Decided not to read based on two factors 1) awful covers 2) when everybody loves it, almost a sure bet I will be let down. 7y
RealBooks4ever @Soubhiville @Rjanke Right?! The covers are horrible! 7y
Caroline2 I tried reading the first one but it was hard work! V boring! I bailed in the end! 😒 7y

There are so many popular books that 'everyone' seems to have read, except me, but these three came to my mind immediately. I have them, somewhere, and eventually will get to them. 😬📚
@RealLifeReading

Reviewsbylola They're all great but GWTW is one of my absolute favorites!! 7y
night_shift The Great Gatsby I keep trying. Really want to as much as I loved the movie. 7y
rubyslippersreads ❤❤❤ GWTW! 7y
LeahBergen Loved them all but definitely read The Diary of Anne Frank. ❤ 7y
