The description of this book doesn‘t sound like something that would work, but it does. At 622 pages it‘s a MiniChunkster ( @Amiable ) yet I finished it in 4 days, one of which was mostly spent visiting relatives. It‘s hard to say which of the three stories I was most engaged with - they were all engrossing- but I think Zeno was my favorite character. Best book of 2026. 😂

Amiable Best book AND a chunkster! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉 18h
sarahbarnes I loved this one too! 16h

A sexually ambiguous man falls to pieces after a child-death and his marriage's demise. He turns to nearly every drug imaginable (religion, travel, sex, talk-therapy, family, folklore...) before reconnecting with a past love thought foregone; meanwhile, he comes into the inheritance of an ancestral...

#roll100 #hauntedshelf #screamteam really enjoyed this one - intertwined stories from 1400s Constantinople to late 21st century. I loved all the references to ancient texts in it too 🤓

Well it was not as good as All the Light We Cannot See and it‘s a problem when it takes the first 350 pages — 350!! — to get into it, but I tore through the last 200. Creative and really compelling characters. An ode to libraries and books, which I love.
