Can my fellow PCOS girlies relate 😂🧛🏻‍♀️ Also I accidentally found the tagged book trying to make this post but I totally want to find and read it for real now! 🩸

willaful Wait a minute, I had no idea there was a connection between PCOS and anemia! That sure explains a lot... 9mo

Can we do #TuesdayTunes on a Thursday night?? This just came up on a Spotify-curated playlist, and I could smell that school bus seat vinyl and that particular teenage muskiness. Man…took me straight back to high school. Hadn‘t heard the song in years!

How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind? 🎶
So good!

BarbaraBB Of course we can! I didn‘t know this The Verve song but am listening to it while typing this. I love it when a song brings back such memories! 11mo
BarbaraBB Still listening and what a good album! I only knew them from their biggest hit here, Bitter Sweet Symphony, which I didn‘t like much. 11mo

Megabooks @BarbaraBB yes! This was an album I bought back then for their single, but I like the rest of the album much more now than BSS; although the orchestral background is still great. I associate that song with the final scene in Cruel Intentions, which was my college roommate‘s favorite movie so I saw it A LOT! Many good memories with her! 😁😁 11mo
Megabooks @BarbaraBB I‘m definitely a nostalgia listener, but I‘m picking up some great new songs too lately. 11mo
Megabooks @vivastory the lyrics definitely hit harder as an adult than they did as a teen. 11mo
BarbaraBB I‘d love to know what you‘re picking up these days and hope you‘ll continue #ThursdayTunes 😜🥰 (edited) 11mo
TieDyeDude This song is new to me, but I like it! Similar orchestral arrangement to BSS. Is that throughout the album? 11mo
Bookwomble @TieDyeDude Yes, it is. I'd recommend Richard Ashcroft's solo albums to you, especially Alone With Everybody and Human Conditions. Song for the Lovers from the former has a great orchestral introduction 😊 https://open.spotify.com/track/7a90gal9tr3yS8bEXUvu8D?si=-O-28vPQSKOgNjSPsyRh4A&... (edited) 11mo
Megabooks @Bookwomble thanks for chiming in! And recommending another artist I‘ll check out! I hope you try the album @TieDyeDude 👍🏻 11mo
Bookwomble @Megabooks You're welcome. Richard Ashcroft is the lead singer and main songwriter for The Verve, so if you like them, you'll like him 😊 11mo
Megabooks @Bookwomble I am SO BAD at knowing the names of band members! 😂😂 even bands I‘ve enjoyed for years I‘d have trouble naming them. 11mo
Bookwomble @Megabooks You only know if you know! 😊 11mo

I have the serendipitous timing to stumble upon a panel speaking and awareness event at the book in the historic downtown I was visiting circumstantially Wednesday! So giveaways of banned books (mostly kids and youth) to emphasize a need for greater access to diverse stories to build empathy and to expand our awareness of the people and culture out there we meet, to better understand our world, we are not all the same but not all that different.

Ruthiella Awesome! 👍 2y

Yesterday, Illinois Passed HB 2789 - the Right to Read Bill. This bill helps curb book banning, by saying any library that participates in this activity will not be eligible for state funding. There are only small pockets in Illinois with problems like Florida, Missouri, and Indiana, but we don't want those problems to grow, so the state is being proactive. The bill still has to go before the sent where it is expected to pass, and the governor

LibrarianRyan WILL Sign it when it reaches his desk. This is a first of it's kind bill in the nation. And it's awesome to see a state legislature that on a bipartisan effort sees that all books have a purpose, and that every one should have access to them. No one is making anyone read them, but they should still have access.

While we loved Little Sunflower, Little Acorn and Little Snowflake - Little Comet fell short for us. The others are quite educational as you learn about the life cycle of the sunflower, acorn and snowflake. It didn't feel that there was as much learning in this book but you do get to zoom through space as a comet and learn the planets on the way. Our three year old clearly enjoys the illustrations!

4 ⭐ Turns out this is a kids book on why giving blood is a good thing. The book uses vampires to help explain how and why blood works and why donating it can be a good thing. I listened to this as an audiobook but wish I had read the print version. I think the illustrations would have helped make the point and the importance of the story clearer, but overall, I enjoyed it.

From the creators of Butterflies are Pretty Gross, comes Flowers are Pretty Weird! Kids won't read into the quivering and shivering (I'm expecting a bird book next). If you teach life cycle and adaptations, you might start collecting these books.

This was a fantastic book about blood for littles. A vampire smoothie barista convinces another vampire to try something besides blood while telling him how important it is for humans. My 5 year old approves.
