From another favorite movie of mine, The Birds.

The flapping of wings,
trapped like a bird in a cage;
predator now prey.

Mehso-so

I was expecting more of a thriller, with maybe a dash of horror and that is not what this is. Every character is awful and I wanted a higher body count.

Finished February 2, 2025.

2-20-25: My 14th finished book of 2025! Fantastic concept but a fizzled ending. Alfred Smettle, a Hitchcock super fan, has bought a house by his old college campus, redone it, and turned it into the Hitchcock Hotel. On the 1st anniversary of its opening he invites his friends from college for a weekend of fun, and murder. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣1️⃣4️⃣

AnishaInkspill oh my crumbs this is a distraction, I hadn't realised the movie was an adaptation, mind you I am not sure if I've seen the movie. I'm really tempted, I'll see how the next few weeks go. 4mo
willaful I haven't been able to find it, except at Project Gutenberg Australia, where it's not downloadable. Could you point me towards the source? 4mo

I quite enjoyed this one!! Now the well-worn saga of “what do I read next??” The first book choice of the year is so important!

I do love when publishers make a great effort like this for books. Every chapter, section, quotes like this have received nice attention. It makes for an enjoyable reading experience for sure.

I started this one on Christmas Day because I was close to finishing the Fredrik Backman and I was feeling the tears were going to start pouring, so I quickly reached for this one so I wouldn‘t be breaking down in front of my family. 😚 So far it‘s been good.

I would totally stay in a Hitchcock themed hotel so I was excited for this book! I was hoping this would have been a little more creepy but mostly it was just drama between old college roommates. What made this a pick was there were a few good twists that I did not see coming. I was hoping there would have been a Norman Bates like shower scene 🔪 but no luck! 😛
