I read ebooks almost exclusively, but occasionally pick up a physical book when an author graciously sends me a lovely autographed copy so that I can read & review it.
I'm looking forward to reading 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, the legal thriller from 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐙𝐢𝐞𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐫, because I'm an attorney 𝘢𝘯𝘥 had a run-in with an out-of-control homeowners assoc. years ago. Thank you, Sharon!
#magicalMay May 1: May Day
May Day is also Law Day in the U.S. and here are some of my personal law books. #lawyersoflitsy
The Law Day 2020 theme is “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100.”

This is the stack of contracts I have to review today. Luckily, a lot of them are very similar so I‘ve just lined them up on the conference room table and am going through them one page at a time! #notfunreading #Grateful for my job though! #lawyersoflitsy
I‘ve been a bit absent from Litsy lately. It has been a MONTH (it‘s actually been a year, if I‘m being honest). I‘m still making time to read a little every day on my commute, but otherwise my life is consumed by work. Luckily, we‘re going on vacation in two weeks (road trip!) so hopefully I can get back to participating more then because I miss you! In the meantime, trying to get some work/life balance lessons from this book. #lawyersoflitsy

I was so busy organizing (b/c you guys blew me away with your enthusiastic response!), I almost forgot to set my own goals. And like the rules & the points system, I of course couldn‘t resist being a bit complicated. 😂 #blameitonthedayjob #lawyersoflitsy
And because you all embraced this idea so thoroughly, I have a couple other ideas brewing that I may toss out to you later this summer. 😉
Let‘s go team! 🙌🏻 #BFC
🍭 Top song on my 18th birthday was either All for You by Janet Jackson or Lady Marmalade
🍭🍭 Gemini
🍭🍭🍭 Harper Lee. To Kill A Mockingbird has been my favorite book since the 7th grade. Atticus isn't the direct reason I became a lawyer, but it probably contributed

I‘ve loved looking at everyone‘s #90sspringfling photos and had to go digging. The 90s was a tough decade for me, but when I went to look for photos I realized I was quite the world traveler that decade, having traveled to Norway three times (top left & right), and my mom took me to Switzerland to find my roots (bottom left) and celebrate graduating from law school. If not for the 90s, I wouldn‘t be who I am today.
Why do I think this is an important read? Because it creates awareness that there exists a system that is unfair mostly to the poor, women, the discriminated, and the young - "a system that continues to treat the rich and guilty better than the poor and innocent". This quote right here is what scares me: "Finality, not fairness, had become the new priority in death penalty jurisprudence."
