Maybe I built up too much hype for this one, but I finished the book feeling disappointed. I found it repetitive and predictable. Over and over, certain characters made the wrong choices and the maji were tricked by the monarchy. For me, the ending felt abrupt and forced. With all the hype surrounding this book, I was really hoping for a lot more. And on top of it, I wasn't expecting to predict the endings of Book One and Two (especially coming from someone who can't predict anything).

I know I am in the minority so far for this book but I just found it ok. Not bad but not good either. It was a short quick read but I didn‘t find the characters very compelling or engaging. Plus the big reveal was not all that shocking 🤷🏻‍♀️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2

This book was #NotForMe and I bailed. The premise was cute but Dimple got on my nerves after awhile. #jubilantjuly

DNF at 25%. Honestly, I found this book awful. The character names are not original, the plot is boring, and the dialogue is bad as well as the writing. I wanted to like this, but the book had me growing bored and annoyed with how poorly written it was.

Day 7 of #angiebookishnovember is an #overhyped book. I detested this book and then was shocked to see how many people loved it!

Picked this book up after seeing it all over litsy, but honestly don't think the hype was worth it - not for me anyway. The major twist was so predictable that I was frustrated by how long it took Nora to understand.. but maybe that's because it is too much of a rehash of #GoneGirl?? Just a thought.
Though I'll admit it wasn't entirely unpleasant - hopefully #TheWomaninCabin10 is an improvement..
