Shelby just thinks her mother is a little overprotective, but when Shelby is hit by a car outside the library, it launches a series of events that changes her life forever. Oh, and Coyote shows up to show her how to walk into the Dreaming and tells her she has to save the world. No pressure!

A fun tour of Yolen's short stories about classic fictional characters, from Robin Hood to Lancelot to Dorothy from Oz and Alice in Wonderland. My favorite was "Lost Girls," where the newest "Wendy" Peter Pan takes to Neverland leads all the girls in a strike for equality. Loved the process notes and poems at the end of the book too!

I really enjoyed this cozy. Liz's best friend has a stalker who is leaving tarot cards at her door. Liz is first on the hunt for the stalker and then the stalker's killer.

Cute middle-grade fantasy with familiar tropes about the protagonist wanting to follow a different path than their family expects them to, but with plus-size representation. Giada has a nice blend of confidence (including her anti-chafing balm, necessary for walking in hot, humid weather), insecurity, and stubbornness in considering alternate viewpoints that rings true for a tween character.

So my husband took days off to join me during my spring break - but it's miserably cold and windy, so we're staying in and reading instead. Apparently the thing to do is binge the Heartstopper series!

This book was simultaneously fascinating and frustrating! It takes the real-life story of the missing Florentine diamond and speculates: what would happen if your grandmother left it to your family after her death? The Miller family are indeed the "imperfects" of the title, and watching them make poor decisions is the frustration of this book, but I still found it compelling.

This was a cute little cozy with a gorgeous cover. Carley ownes Little Shop of Potions, a shop known for its love potions, at least until a dead body is found there holding one of her Potion bottles.

This is the conclusion to The Cadence duology. It starts out with Adaira in the West adjusting to her new family, Jack sulking in the East and Torin as the new Lord of The Tamerlains.
