I did a search for good but underrated mystery books and these sounded interesting - let me know what you think j @TheAromaofBooks @robinb @bookandbedandtea

robinb These all sound good, Denise! Judging from blurbs I‘d probably go with Jar City, The Midnight Witness, Northern Spy and then the Woodstock…but I‘m good with the consensus. 😊 5mo
bookandbedandtea I've read Jar City and Northern Spy. Either of the other two sound good to me! 5mo
Jerdencon Any preferences @TheAromaofBooks? 5mo
TheAromaofBooks I haven't read any of these, so I am fine with whichever one works best!! Probably a slight inclination to The Midnight Witness out of the two that @bookandbedandtea hasn't read yet. @robinb 5mo
bookandbedandtea Sounds great! 5mo
robinb 👍👍👍 5mo
TheAromaofBooks @Jerdencon - I received your books over a week ago and just keep forgetting to post anything!!! @bookandbedandtea did you get the books I sent to you? 3mo
bookandbedandtea @TheAromaofBooks Yes I did! Sorry, I keep forgetting to post also. @Jerdencon I still haven't mailed the next book to you and I apologize. 😵‍💫 Lately I just collapse when I'm finished with work but I promise I'll get it sent next week. 3mo
Jerdencon @TheAromaofBooks glad you got them. 3mo
Jerdencon @bookandbedandtea no worries! Send it when you have time! 3mo
TheAromaofBooks @bookandbedandtea - No worries on not posting about their arrival, I think I got the books Denise sent back at the end of July and yesterday was the first time I remembered to mention it 😂 3mo

Kshakal @CSeydel we each picked 12 books we wanted to read this year and then the other picked what month you would read them, wrapped them up and labeled them… it will be a surprise each month! 11mo

Good Lord this book took forever to finish reading. It wasnt my type of book but I was reluctant to put it down and DNF it because a friend liked it. Good on them, but it just wasnt for me.

I went ahead and did another draw from the #TBRDeckofCards for a lighter book than the last one. Drew the tagged book, which has been on my shelf since about this time last year. Definitely lighter topics than the last draw it seems. At least it isn't true. @Clwojick

Clwojick Hopefully you like it! 4y

Gave the new Grab and Go program at my library a try. Fill out a google form, they pick you some books and you just pick them up. If you get curbside you dont even have to leave your car. I went in because there was literally no one there and had a lovely conversation with the librarians. Next post: the unveiling.

Bookwormjillk So fun! 4y
CocoReads @Bookwormjillk it was lots of fun! I‘ll definitely participate again. 4y
JackOBotts Sounds like such a fun idea! 4y
In_the_stacks Oh I wish my library had something like this! That looks like so much fun. 4y

I can't do those pretty graphics. I've tried. So I will list some books that I would like to read. #LMPBC Group J @kspenmoll @Laughterhp @sprainedbrain

They All Fall Down by Rachel Howzell Hall
Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin (Tartan Noir)
The Bat by Jo Nesbo (Nordic Noir)
A Rage in Harlem by Chester Himes
Black Water Rising by Attica Locke

Laughterhp So I actually read They All Fall Down earlier this year. So I wouldn‘t want to reread that one. Knots & Crosses sounds really good. So does Black Water Rising. I was actually going to suggest an Attica Locke but I‘m assuming a lot of people will have read it. But I‘m going to mention it anyway 😊 4y
Lynnsoprano I feel better now. I can‘t do the neat graphics either. 😄 4y
sprainedbrain I haven‘t read any of these! Intrigued by the Attica Locke (I‘ve actually read book 2 in that series, but not Black Water Rising) and A Rage in Harlem, but any of them would be great. 😃 4y
Butterfinger @sprainedbrain @kspenmoll @Laughterhp I am going to choose Black Water Rising. 4y
kspenmoll Sounds good! 4y

Curating a list of Mysteries and Cozy Mysteries for my October book club's poll. I figure, who better to ask then all of you Littens!! So favorite mysteries, cozies, even true crime!!! That you think would be good for a MOMS Club Book Club :)

Thank you!!

Mollyanna What about Agatha Christie‘s 5y
SamanthaMarie @Mollyanna Excellent suggestion :) 5y

Scochrane26 Lady Sherlock series—sherry Thomas!! 5y
BookNAround David Handler‘s Stewart Hoag mysteries are fantastic. He wrote a bunch back in the nineties and then quit. Just in the past couple of years he‘s started writing them again, still set in the nineties, and they are great. The early ones are expensive so just start with #9 The Girl with the Kaleidoscope Eyes. I am a read in order kind of girl but I started there and I don‘t think it made any difference. 5y
