Great audiobook ! A little slow at first but interesting. Very much a cozy read- not a action packed murder mystery as the last series I read, but still enjoyable.
I enjoyed all the literary references in this book. It was a cute mystery.
This will probably be the last book I finish for #CozyInTheSun - it was fun reading cozy‘s in July.
This book was fun with all of the book quotes and mentioning of books. Some I‘ve read and some I haven‘t! The mystery was good. I loved all of the women meeting, sharing their secrets, and building a friendship and relationships.
This was a really good cozy mystery. I throughly enjoyed the friendship that Nora, Estella, Hester and June formed. I just wish Adams would have included recipes ☕
I actually went running 2 times this week and didn‘t have field hockey again.
I need to lengthen my runs for the final week. We have a Obstacle 5k coming up and I don‘t want to be dying the whole time! Especially with it being August!
Finished 3 books, but no audiobooks 🤷🏻♀️ - I‘m still working on the tagged book. I‘m loving all the bookish references

Spent most of the 4th curled up with my first #cozyinthesun before heading off to a barbecue. This was great! I can totally see these three new gal pals continuing to sleuth together well into little old ladyhood.
The #cozymystery genre is not my usual cup of tea, so I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It would be a great palate cleanser in between heavier literary reads.
Set in WNC, near Asheville, I could relate to the atmospheric setting (my guess is it is inspired by Hot Springs, NC), and loved the MC‘s talent of bibliotherapy, a modality I didn‘t even know existed, and now want to incorporate into my coaching practice!
Book club is in 4 hours, and I‘m only halfway through! Pretty sure I won‘t be finishing in time. 😬
After a brief rain shower on my walk this afternoon, the ☀️ came out in full force. So I made strawberry mango slushees as an after school snack for Maya and I! So good and only 4 ingredients: 🥭 🍓 ice and sparkling water. If it wasn‘t a no-sugar day, I would have added a bit of honey, too. #bookfitnesschallenge
By complete coincidence, hubby brought home a scone from the bakery just as I was sitting down with my morning tea to start this book! #booksandtea
Book club is tomorrow night, so I‘m on a time crunch with this one!
Decided to bail after chapter 6. It had all the right stuff -- bibliophilia, female friendship, murder -- but somehow it didn't come together the way I had been hoping. I called it when I encountered the trope of otherwise smart women playing dumb and using sexuality to get what they want. Not for me.
Best way to start the morning: kicking off a new audio adventure over tea and crochet. I might start work just a touch late today 🤷🏽♀️
Wow I really liked this one! A quick read and I‘m so happy to see that it‘s book one of a series! #foodonthecover #booked2019 #igotnoworkdonethisweek #readallthebooks @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft
“Life is never black and white,” she said. “The best villains are characters we can empathize with, even if we don‘t condone their behavior. And you‘re right. They‘re often more complex than the heroes.” Reading this line made me think of one of my favorite characters of all time, Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon A Time. #rumple #villianwithaheart #ouat #robertcarlyle
I just got home and opened the most wonderful package from @AmberWB Thank you so much, Amber! This is really an above and beyond, lovely gift. 🤯😊 I love all the Maryland things, especially. The books, snacks, and beverages! all are just perfect. 🤩 And what a great magnet. Cheers to you! 🍻
When Barnes and noble has a sale
Its fitting that my bath bomb and coffee mug both are Easter looking. Warming up in my tub and putting a dent on this book tonight. With my reading rutt taking place I now have two weeks to binge read about...like 6 books. Pray for me.
#CurrentlyListening and enjoying (though that soundtrack under the narration is still very distracting!)
#CurrentlyListening - the book is great so far, but the audiobook is super annoying! The narrator is excellent, but someone decided that the book needed a soundtrack, so there‘s music over the narration. Just no. 😱😱😱
I read the first two books in the series out of order because I had a free review copy of the second one, but now having read the first in the series I am definitely a fan! I can‘t wait for the next in the series! I love the ladies in the Society and I can‘t wait to find out what happens next for them!
It has been a strange week for me. Haven‘t read a single word and haven‘t left my house much. I‘m feeling better today and went to lunch with my daughter and somehow today I ended up with this! I missed you all this week. ❤️❤️❤️
This was not the mystery for me. There are a lot of heartbreaking issues discussed in this, so I think it‘s more substantial than a cozy mystery plot wise. But, I never warmed to the main character Nora, despite her being a former librarian and ultimate book lover. I probably won‘t continue the series. #unpopularopinion
This made me smile. I like this woman. 😉
I won these books for my bookclub from the author! Looking forward to a fantastic read in 2019!
I have great friends (shout out to @petersonks15 and @Eggbeater ) but none of them makes comfort scones OR wants to help me solve murder... although I'm pretty sure I can count on them to help bury the bodies... ;)
I may have gone a bit nuts with my book buying this week. In my defense, I wanted them, so... 😁
(The ones turned sideways and the Sarah Vaughn book were used, so it's not quite as spendy as it looks.)
Logging 9 total hours for #24b4monday. Compelling and interesting book, the killer caught me by surprise. As someone who works in the federal judicial system, I appreciated the accurate attention to detail. I'm not in love with these characters yet, but the book was engaging enough that I'll give book 2 a shot to see if I learn to like the MCs.
Another 2 hours logged for #24b4Monday . Thankfully the friend we were going to help tonight called off so I should get to read and relax the rest of the night. I need to not people for awhile.
4 stars. An awesome cozy mystery. These are my go to warm and lovely feelings. It‘s genre book that hits the tropes BUT is a lovely read anyway. Especially for those that love books. And the end had a little bit of twist so that was nice! I‘m hooked and will probably read the 2nd book coming out here shortly!
