I absolutely loved this book. It is a great combination of cozy and fantasy. Violet ownes a crystal shop and when her adversary on the town council suddenly dies, she becomes the first suspect but that turns out to be only a portion of her problems 💜

#SetInANeighborhood this book is loaded with #Secrets and #twists - A son is devastated when his beloved mom disappears with a quarter of a million dollars after having an argument with her husband, a powerful businessman but a cold hearted father. 10 years later her whereabouts become known, setting the cul de sac where she lived into a frenzy as everyone there has something to hide. Fabulous setting Ok story. #GoodNotGreat

I read this in a DAY. Ignored my husband and kids (okay, not really, but maybe a little) 😂😂 This will easily be a favorite of 2023 for me - what a punch of a book packed into a little over 200 pages! I loved every character, but especially Waldo ♥️ @AmyG spot on, I loved this so much!

Ferrada, who also writes children‘s books, had a great grasp on the child narrator of this novel but also brought in some more adult themes. I‘m really pleased that #aardvark chose some literature in translation in January!
