Pickpick

Did I stay up way late to finish this one? Yes, yes I did. I‘ll pay for it tomorrow, but I had to find out what happens! Without giving away any spoilers, this #SupernaturalThriller is probably my second favorite by St James…she has this incredible way of building suspense with a multitude of clues and a creep factor that makes me keep all of the lights on as I read. Cannot wait to discuss this next Sunday! #SundayBuddyRead #BBRC #YeahBaby

I wanted a #thriller with a supernatural element for today‘s prompt so it matched #teamhendrix & I this this one does it nicely. It‘s tagged as both #supernaturalthriller & #historicalthriller on Amazon. I really liked the audiobook when I listened to it a couple of years ago. 😱 Very creepy!

I really loved this book even though it's nutty and hard to describe without spoilers. What I can say is that it's about a family trying to stay together even with their own secrets and a bunch of supernatural insanity that they end up in 👻

This book is like a 3.75 for me! The pace of this book is awesome. There are a lot of places where it could have dragged, but didn't. I thought the story was creepy, and in some parts thrilling. We also get a lot of good/unexpected reveals throughout the novel. There are a LOT of rhetorical questions in here though and it got to the point where I was paying a lil too much attention to them. Also was not a fan of the last two pages.

The_Literary_Jedi This post is EVERYTHING right now! I still want to read this book so bad! 😈 7y
courtney @The_Literary_Jedi it is definitely worth the read! I was pleasantly surprised 😈 7y

Savage Magic | Lloyd Shepherd

Mehso-so

Quickly captivated by Shepherd's poetic prose. He has a clear ability of painting the surrounding, characters, dark seedy atmosphere of early nineteenth century London. A strong supernatural element carries the otherwise gritty detective mystery through; as it cleverly unfolds. However, I found the concluding final chapters slightly dissapointing and felt a little robbed of a great ending. All lose ends tied up but a little lacklustre.
