I was about to say, "Why is there no Billy Wilder biopic?!" but I googled it to make sure I hadn't overlooked one. It looks like there is one to be released starting Christoph Waltz as Wilder, based on a Jonathan Coe book!
Over the past couple of weeks I've found it difficult to focus on reading with everything that's been happening. One comfort as I doomscroll has been the Art of Fiction tweets from Paris Review. A few of my recent favorites:
"Fiction is freedom" (Sontag)
"I hate almost all rich people, but I think I'd be darling at it" (Parker)
"I am not very bright or very witty or very inventive after the sun goes down" (T Morrison)

From the Paris Review. Saw it on Instagram. Apparently today would be Elizabeth Hardwick's birthday. (She was born in 1916.)
Okay, this is getting a huge feminist eye roll from me because there certainly aren‘t women out there writing amazing women characters. 🙄🙄🙄 We just wait for men to do it. 😒😒😒

Mack Little‘s inventive new release isn‘t in the database yet, but fans of horror & dark fantasy will love Zen Grant & her journey. “Unique” is an over-used term, but Little‘s language is creative & lush and she can spin an exciting story! #newrelease #darkfantasy #horror #talent #writerstowatch
A lovely article from the Paris Review https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2018/06/26/a-life-of-reading-is-never-lonely...
