I went from loving this book to ‘what? why?‘ so fast!

“Someone asked me once what my philosophy of life was, and I said some crazy thing. I should have said, how the hell do I know?”
Biography and memoir is a genre I typically don‘t visit, but when I do, I‘m never disappointed. I loved this book, and spent about 14 hours wishing I could give this guy a hug. I‘m really looking forward to the next couple of weeks when I inevitably watch every Rock Hudson film.
I loved this! It made me smile, and also made me want to stop being complacent.
Ok, so I loved the idea of this book, and it definitely kept me reading. But I found Ana and Jesus...well, boring. This is the first book I‘ve read by Sue Monk Kids 😬, and cant wait to read more by her. Unfortunately, this didn‘t quite land for me.
Was it just me or was this book...fine? I really enjoyed the writing, but (in my opinion) was slightly overhyped?
10 word book review: This book is my favorite read of 2020 so far!
I love historical fiction, but I‘m getting some WWII fiction fatigue. Am I the only one? (That and Tudor England). I did start this one because I am determined to get through my TBR list!
“There is nothing to fear from someone who shouts. Those men of Abame were fools.”
A little refresher is always good with these two 😄
When I read the description of this book, I assumed it was going to go one way...and I was very wrong. I‘ve read a lot of reviews that didn‘t like the ending, but it seemed to me that the ending was very much in line with how the characters would react. Definitely recommend!
I wouldn‘t say that reading this was easy or enjoyable...but I‘m so glad that I read it. Highly recommend the audiobook. #hoopla #audiobook
Taking a walk with the kiddos! Random question: are any of you fine people librarians or know someone who is? I am contemplating going back to school to earn an MLIS, but wanted to chat with someone about their experience.
I picked this book up from Goodwill...and the notes in here are priceless. Poll: do you write in books? What are your thoughts on yams?
Thank you for the tag, @Cuilin 🙂
1. I think we log our reading and can earn free Chipotle and a book! Last year I picked Outlander to try and read it again, so I‘m excited to see the choices this year!
2. Audible, Hoopla, and I‘m going to check out Serial Reader to see if I like that this weekend!
3. The kiddos and I are house/pet sitting for my parents while they are out of town!
4. Blackberries!
Pete is a favorite at our house...and obviously clothing is not (I promise I‘m dressed!)
Books about dysfunctional families are not my thing, so I am not sure why I gave this one a chance. That being said, I liked this one a lot more than I thought. If this is your genre, I would definitely recommend.
The upside to being awake in the middle of the night. #audiobook #currentlyreading #libby
I was a little hesitant to read a book about a pandemic during a pandemic...but I couldn‘t stop listening. Not a huge fan of one character‘s storyline, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.
